Tate had a very good core message, but unfortunately brought so much negative and baggage with the rest of him that he did more harm than good

It's a damn shame how much he has undercut himself

His core message is "I'm a man and should be able to do whatever the **** I want because I'm a man". He believes laws should not apply to him and women do not deserve respect. They should be subservient to him in every way.

That is a horrible message

Wives should be subservient to their husbands. That's Ephesians 5&6. (Tate recently converted to Islam, and that's due to Chrsitianity abandoning its moral authority on this issue, and others.)

Tate tells his audience that men are heads of their household *gasp* and therefore they have the ultimate responsibility over their wife and children. *doublegasp*.

Completely disagree.

The only people that could hear THAT as his only message are those already hopelessly indoctrinated in an ideology /woke religion. And in that case, no message is going to get be heard anyway, as the ideology blinds them.

But that absolutely is his core message. Really sit down and listen to what he has said over the years. Any messages that justifes forcing women to perform sex cam work because you stole their passport is not a good or positive message.

Does the Bible also say that women should not be treated as people but rather as objects for you to use at will?

Because that is absolutely his belief and behavior. It has nothing to do with husbands and wives. Tate himself is not married but just has "girlfriends" that do his bidding.

Again, I'm the first one here that said that he brought bad ideas that countered and distracted from the good ideas he brought

The reason he resonated so strongly with young men was his core message - which was that real masculinity needs to be celebrated, not eliminated. We need to be encouraging young men and be strong men in the same roles that men of operated in society through history. And make no apologies about it.

Unfortunately, as I said, he brought other crap that gave away his credibility.

But you cannot deny that young men flocked to part of his message - and this is why

His only 'real' message was anything he could match his own traits to promoting a lifestyle for depressed losers to follow him which ultimately helped monetize him. He's not some principled dude who falls off the rails a time or 2.

If the issue is TikTok sharing other non-TikTok data on your phone then you would think Google/Apple would slap them down. If it's government employees using TikTok then ban government employees from having it installed. Otherwise, who cares what they do with the data used within their app - it's THEIR app. Don't use it if you don't want to. I don't really see a case here for the feds to intervene.
do you really trust apple and google care more about user privacy than the money they make from people using tiktok on the devices they sell?
Do you really trust the feds to use their power altruistically?

But to answer your question - yes. Because otherwise they would find themselves in hot water violating privacy regulations and find themselves at the end of a bunch of lawsuits for allowing such apps on their app stores.
they don't and won't. this is why terms of service exist. the users "consent" to whatever tiktok is doing with their data when they click the "i accept" button at the end of the form they didn't read, so apple and google are absolved of culpability. you could argue so what, that's on the user - but when it poses national security risks it makes sense that the government would look to intervene.

That is true for data in TikTok's app. But what about data in your other apps or elsewhere in your phone that Apple/Google does not give them authority to share? That's the problem data - not the data you already willingly gave to TikTok within their app.

If you allow the government to ban tiktok, they can essentially ban any app they deem a threat. That IMO is a bigger threat than the problem apps themselves. There are better solutions to this than government regulation.

Since you seem genuinely curious about this issue, I encourage you to watch the congressional hearings on this. Start at the very beginning. This is bigger than "an app." This isn't about freedom or capitalism as Tik tok is basically an arm of the CCP.

I have no idea who the guy is, but it is pretty funny that the lines have been drawn so clearly here with several posters and their known histories.

IMO, TikTok is just yet another vehicle that carries the rot of our society that is already internal to our borders. It starts at home and not some Romanian cell or computer bank in Xiwang. People believe way too much just because it comes from their electronic device and they don't have the mental capacity to filter anything out.

Maybe Tik Tok is spying. But I think it has more to do with money and control. Do you really think Meta and Google did the government's bidding without payment? Every set of eyes on TikTok are eyes that are not on Instagram, Facebook, and Youtube. This is quid pro quo for tech allowing the feds to censor. Also, the government can rely on Meta and Google to tow the line on the next misinformation project. Feds don't have that kind of control over TikTok. Feds can't have TikTok out there spreading unapproved wrong-think.

The concerns around Tik Tok are actually one of the few things that generally brings folks together around D.C. these days. It was the House Republicans that pushed through a bill at the start of March to give the President the power to ban Tik Tok.

As to Andrew Tate, Tik Tok banned Andrew Tate like 2 years ago. No need to go after Tik Tok over guys like that. By the way, he's currently in jail in Romania under suspicion of human trafficking. Cry me a river, Clay.
Not a Tate fan, but the facts around this case are rather suspicious, as Tate has been targeted by Biden's intelligence apparatus. They don't like his influence on young American men and boys. He projects a desire to see a masculine lead society and rejects egalitarianism. He had also recently converted to Islam earlier in 2022.

Romania is holding him WITHOUT official charges having been filed. And it appears as though he is being held as a request from our government agencies that are using the weak Romanian laws that protect defendants rights to hold him in perpetuity.

Something is not right here. This smells just like the Proud Boys persecution to me.

Romania could be violating 10 different international laws, the NSA could have a whole Andrew Tate division set up.

Andrew Tate kept looking for trouble, he kept finding trouble. I don't give a **** for purposes of what to do about TikTok. That stuff is just not why the whole of Capitol Hill has teamed up to grill TikTok.

Nah, that's not what really what Andrew Tate is out there "preaching." Andrew Tate's position is that men shouldn't get married. And that men should sleep with multiple women, otherwise no women will respect and want them. To the extent he talks about marriage, he's always ignored all those other parts of the Bible talking about respecting your wife.

But again, not why Congress is grilling TikTok.

I've been attacking TikTok, and the CCP for years. I could never understand why we allowed China to buy Smithfield meats and Lenovo. Why do we allow Tencent to have so much control over video games? Why do we allow Zoom to be used across so many critical infrastructures? ZTE and other companies... there are so many that should be outright banned.

TikTok is one of many that need to be disconnected as a national security risk.

Please note that China is not the only risk to the US. Even our "friends" should be questioned when it comes to spying and intellectual property.

All the sudden the current political heads decided to turn on Tiktok specifically.

If you know Threat Intelligence, you know that the CCP is actively playing both sides of the fence, though. Sure they are amplifying the Andrew Tate's but they are also floating the far left crazy's up too. The goal for them is to divide on all these topics to create instability. We saw it heavily on social media during the last elections and the BLM vs Based crowds. They'd literally post both sides to conflate the issues. We could see where the posts were coming from too. We could track the bot accounts using OSINT tools.
