Didn't read the article, and hate to break up the hoa argument.

But, honestly, this looks more like something that would be against deed restrictions or permitting. That's a structure, not a treehouse.

HOA have rules. Everyone who moves to the neighborhood gets the rules and they sign a document saying there are rules and that they will follow them BEFORE they buy the house.
