I haven't heard Grandys mentioned in forever. Used to go there with my grandparents. I just googled it and there's still a few left in the Dallas area.

You are correct. They are always the same. It's mostly sarcastic humor but pointing out the hypocrisy of it should be fair game. For myself being a dad of teen boys, I can't find the humor in it to be honest.

That said, I am sure everyone remembers Desperate Housewives. One of the main characters, Gabrielle (the stunning Eva Longoria), was having a sexual affair with her teenage yard boy behind her husband's back. I don't recall outrage over this. My wife watched every episode. No one called the Gabby character a pedo. And the series ran from 2004 to 2012. That was not that long ago.

I think it's fair to say that society has been fairly permissive of adult women having sex with teenage boys (purely for the sport f*** fun of it), at least until recent years. At a minimum, kind of turned a blind eye to it. I mean really, this was one of the most popular shows in America in the primetime Sunday night slot.

I'm not defending it all as my above posts indicate. It is a weird dynamic though.

I never watched the show, so how old was the yard boy? I think there is a difference between the impact to a 14 year old versus a 16 or 17 year old. Also, I do think there is more impact to girls than boys. But 14 is pretty young and yes, society views it differently for boys versus girls.

It's an observation. It is a fact that of pretty recently (2004 to 2012) an ABC/Disney Network television series on primetime, loved by millions of Americans (mostly suburban white women), featured a character that was a grown ass married women who was having sex with teenager enrolled at the local high school. There was no considerable outrage and again, we are talking about a series who's primary viewership was adult females.

This board's responses, sarcastic or not, should also show that a lot men do not seem all that fussed that a teenage boy might get lucky with an adult female.

There is nothing squishy about my views on it. The same standards should be applied regardless.

I can assure you as a former teenage boy that I am very well aware of the existence of horny teenage girls.

I do appreciate your concern in educating me on this topic but I can assure you the subject matter garnered a never ending need for continued hands on field research at the time.

Additionally, my biology teacher in 10th grade (I was 15-16, she was in her mid 20's) attempted on two different occasions to give me an extracurricular "biology" lesson. I declined. If she were better looking I may not have. So I have seen that side of the coin too.
