Yes there is video, I saw part of it on Twitter and even censored I could not finish it.

There is nothing worthwhile about this breed that causes 70+% of all dog fatalities. People constantly say it's the owner and not the dog but there are so many stories of otherwise good owners who had their dogs snap and kill someone or eat another dog or randomly try to kill someone.

If it's the owner and not the dog and your pit kills one of my kids, I'm coming after the owner personally.
Can we talk about how worthless these firemen are? They are straight up TERRIFIED of a 50 lb dog. You outweight that dog by 100-150 lbs, act like it!!!

Just like some people are completely unfit to own large dogs (you have to possess a certain mentality and be willing to physically discipline large dogs, something many people today are unwilling to do), some people are completely unfit to handle dogs, and these three are perfect examples. They're only slightly less worthless than the moron spraying the water, giving the dogs a bath.

Better call the ATF next time, those cowards have plenty of experience shooting dogs.

Been chased by 5-6 dogs while running the past few years. It's beyond ridiculous how irresponsible people are with their dogs. If you think dogs can't hurt you because they don't weigh x amount go find the video on Twitter of the guy who died from the two pit bulls. It's horrific

Ok, fair. If your pit kills someone, you should be charged with murder.

I have already agreed that irresponsible dog owners should be treated like irresponsible gun owners.

Ban the breed. If you own one and it attacks someone, you should be criminally charged as if you did the attack yourself, including the death penalty being on the table

The issue is that a gun can be truly secured. A pit simply can't, even by a "responsible" owner.

There are a lot of valid points here about pit bulls, and their owners.

Still, people need to laugh at/recognize a real canine problem;

Not sure you can slaughter an entire breed world wide but the dogs in this video absolutely should have been shot on that street.

After that, the owner should be shot as well. Want to have one, fine. It kills or maims someone, you should lose your life with the dog.
Hmm, and it is the Pit defenders who are irrational? Not defening Pits here. Just saying.

100% as evidenced by the "go walk your chihuahua" comment.

I made the comment you are referencing. Your reply shows a lack of knowledge, which means ignorance.

I grew up on a farm. We had cats and dogs, chickens and hogs, horses, and cattle.

Animals are not humans, but most Americans see dogs as a family member, one of their children, and attribute human characteristics to the animal.

This is not how managing animals work.

"Oh, my chihuahua is so cute when he gets mad. He is so protective of me" is a common theme because chihuahuas can't generally kill an adult human.

But their mentality is the same as a pit.

Again, I ask whoever is reading this to take a trip through their neighborhood and visually see who is in charge.

Who is walking whom? Who is leading whom?

The proposed ban against pits is pointing to bad leadership. Nothing else.

Why limit this solution to Pit owners, only? Are you suggesting that Pit owners are any different than German Shepard, Rott, or Ridgeback owners? If those latter breeds kill should their owners not be criminally charged?

I wouldn't let a toddler play with a loaded gun or a pit bull.

That's the only analogy I'd make between guns and pit bulls.

Let's actually look at the stats:

2015:
Quote:

Last year, according to the Washington Post, 13 toddlers age 3 or younger accidentally killed themselves with a gun, 18 injured themselves, 10 injured others, and two killed other people.

2015:
Quote:

Annual data from 2015 shows that 39% (14) of the fatality victims were children ages 9-years and younger,

Together, pit bulls (28) and rottweilers (4), the second most lethal dog breed, accounted for 89% of the total recorded deaths in 2015.

https://time.com/4311066/toddlers-guns-shoot-parents/

2015 data shows 38 gun deaths age 0-9 excluding homicide.

https://www.kidsdata.org/topic/2005/firearm-deaths-age-cause/table#fmt=3006&loc=1,2&tf=84&ch=733,1404,445,446,1308,532,534,1643&sortColumnId=0&sortType=asc

Ages 0-9 in 2015:
14 deaths from dangerous dog breeds.
38 deaths from fire arms not ruled homicide.

300+ million guns
being generous here 7 million pit bulls and Rottweilers and other dangerous breeds.

Doing the numbers it appears that a child age 0-9 is 15x more likely to be killed by an aggressive dog breed than a firearm (excluding homicides).

Do you write CRT papers in your spare time? If there are 14 deaths from dogs and 38 deaths from firearms, it means death from firearm is 2.7 times more likely than death from an aggressive dog breed

How the HELL do you get 15x more likely to killed by an aggressive dog from the stats in your post?

There are 5x as many fire arms as there are aggressive breeds of dog. Maybe it should be worded that a mean dog is 15x more likely to cause harm to a child than a firearm.

Ban the breed. You own a banned breed and it attacks, you are criminally charged as if you did it yourself. People can already be criminally charged. I'm talking about an entirely new level. We put you away for life with no parole or the needle if kills, whichever breed(s) are banned.

As long as you are willing to take the punishment of what it does to someone.

If you don't have the money then be put in jail
Or endentured servitude

Most home insurance won't cover their bites
Because when they maul they kill and destroy
And the owner should be held responsible

Recall an incident with a summer job at the Amarillo Ozarka water plant. One of the delivery guys came back from his rounds loudly refusing to deliver water to Toad Hall where Stanley Marsh III (of Cadillac Ranch fame) resided. Seems that when he was on his way back out of the house he encountered a full grown male lion laying on the sofa watching him with interest. He didn't notice him on the way in and then got caught with the lion between him and the door. SM3 apparently had at least a couple of lions roaming around the house and he didn't bother to notify anybody before they delivered his water.

So I have two female Goldendoodles that are about 50 pounds. Generally well behaved, but when my son jumps in my pool, they get excited and want to jump in to 'save him' --- point is, they can pull me out of my chair. I bet they pull with 150 pounds of force when they get excited.

The muscle mass of pit bulls allows them to pull and tear with an incredible amount of force that rivals sharks and alligators.

Pitbulls can, and have, taken down wolves.

I have family and friends that have them, and I just don't get it. And I don't make a big deal out of it, but I too think the breed is dangerous. It's not worth the danger.

I don't understand the point of these breeds. I always ask pit owners what made the pit a better fit for their family over say a golden retriever or lab. They never have a good answer.
My half pit (that I inherited) is scary looking as ****. Luckily, the other half is lab.

He's the best ****ing dog in the world. And the nicest. IF he knows you.

I also have a lab.

If someone breaks into my house, my lab is going to want to lick them to death.

My half pit is going to pin them in a corner while they piss their pants. But, he won't bite them. He'll just get about 1 foot from them and bark his scary as **** bark.

Then, I come out and let them make a decision of whether I shoot them or call the cops.

Labs and golden retrievers are great dogs (my dad has one of each). But, they absolutely SUCK for home defense.

Well if you want a well trained dog for self defense, then get a German Shepard and train it the right way.

All pit owners are ignorant owners who refuse to learn from the misfortune of others.

The simple act of owning a pit bull is an act of ignorance.

I've yet to see a pit bull owner admit their dog is dangerous. The criminal and ghetto owners are more honest about this than the owners in the suburbs.
Big generalization there buddy. Have had two pits and both were great dogs up until they had to be put down.

40 years ago I had an encounter with a pit as I was riding my roping horse back from a friends arena. I'm clip clopping down the street in a crappy neighborhood when a fat jerk and his even fatter wife sitting on their front porch sicced their pit on my horse, I guess for fun or to see what would happen. I heard them do it and next thing I knew a brown blur hurled itself at my mare's shoulder. It hit hard but fortunately did not get a good grip and fell back. The horse exploded under me and went insane for a minute. Now I don't know if any of you boys have ever ridden a sure enough buck with steel shoes on a paved street, but it ain't fun. Meanwhile the pit ran in to grab a hind leg. As my horse launched for the sky under me on about the third jump she mule kicked that damn dog and caught him square. Sounded like a baseball bat on a walnut tree. I do believe it killed the dog. When I got my horse under control about two houses down I looked back and the fat gal was screaming and pulling her hair while the husband was trying to carry a very limp dog off. So I have no use for the breed, damn dangerous animals. Took me awhile to get that horse back in her groove for heeling.
So three conspiracy theorists walk into a bar.................You can't convince me that's a coincidence.

My fathers service dog is a Malinois. Very well trained, very loyal, also completely unhinged levels of energy when they're not working.

Makes my Australian Shepherd look like a Basset Hound.

My dad is retired so he has the time to get all that energy out, but I don't see how anyone would have the time to own one as a pet instead of a service dog or LEO.

Not an issue until you file the claim, they point out your violation of the terms of the policy……and you wind up losing everything except what is protected by the Texas Homestead Act. Then, you get to file personal bankruptcy in order to get rid of the judgment and not lose what you might get in the future. Of course, if you don't have a pot to pee in or don't plan to have anything in the future….then you can't lose what you don't have.
