Pit bulls should be banned and the entire breed put down

Yes there is video, I saw part of it on Twitter and even censored I could not finish it.

There is nothing worthwhile about this breed that causes 70+% of all dog fatalities. People constantly say it's the owner and not the dog but there are so many stories of otherwise good owners who had their dogs snap and kill someone or eat another dog or randomly try to kill someone.

If it's the owner and not the dog and your pit kills one of my kids, I'm coming after the owner personally.

I sewed up three dog attack victims in my ER experience. Two of the attacks were Rottweilers and the other a Chow. The world would be a better place without any of these three breeds IMO

I don't understand the point of these breeds. I always ask pit owners what made the pit a better fit for their family over say a golden retriever or lab. They never have a good answer.

Put me down in favor of banning the breed outright as well. They seem to draw the most irresponsible and/or criminal owners which is a terrible combination.

Guy on here a couple of years ago told a story about how his sister's family dog (one of the aggressive breeds) attacked HIS daughter at a family function and the sister had no plans to put the dog down and tried to blame his daughter or something like that...

Not sure whatever happened there, but that is messed up..

They really are worthless animals and need to disappear like the Chows did in the 80's and 90's.

My half pit (that I inherited) is scary looking as ****. Luckily, the other half is lab.

He's the best ****ing dog in the world. And the nicest. IF he knows you.

I also have a lab.

If someone breaks into my house, my lab is going to want to lick them to death.

My half pit is going to pin them in a corner while they piss their pants. But, he won't bite them. He'll just get about 1 foot from them and bark his scary as **** bark.

Then, I come out and let them make a decision of whether I shoot them or call the cops.

Labs and golden retrievers are great dogs (my dad has one of each). But, they absolutely SUCK for home defense.

Maybe we should force their owners to get insurance to own those dogs. Or maybe get a license?

Guy in my outfit had a 8-10" scar on top of his head when HIS FAMILY CHOW attacked him in the middle of the night coming down the stairs for a drink of water. He was 5-10 years old at the time.

The victim of the Chow attack I mentioned in the previous post was the dog's 50-ish male owner. He kept saying that it was his fault because the dog saw him giving an old friend that he hadn't seen in years a bro hug at the end of the visit. His theory was that the dog thought he was attacking him or something. I asked him if the dog attacked his friend as well and he denied it. But it wasn't the dogs fault, repeat theory ad nauseum. Don't know what was going on with the dog but he was clearly going for the owner's neck from the back side.

If you want a dog for home defense, get a dog that is actually loyal and not a ticking time bomb from an unstable breed.

Every single list for home protection excludes pit bulls because the breed is like giving a psychopath access to weaponry and telling them to do what they want.

In about 1991'ish, we were living in a duplex in NW Austin and a family moved in next door and brought a Chow with them...a few months later we bought our first house and moved.
Not sure if I have even seen a Chow since then, about as worthless as they come.

I never take these posts or comments seriously anymore and just assume the person is a naive idiot. The amount of stories of pits turning on owners are immense.

not sure your point. the govt at all levels has restrictions on all sorts of animals, including forbidden animals, and those that require a license to own.

Every child I've sewn up in the ER from a doc attack has been a pit. And they were all "family friendly" and "great with kids" and they can only say "I think she just got too close, the dog would never do it on purpose"

They say this 100% of the time.

"It's not the breed, it's the owner".
"Oh okay then I'm coming after you if your dog attacks my kids."
"N-n-n-no I didn't do anything wrong."

I can't tell you how many times I've seen this conversation played out. It's the owner until they have to suffer consequences for their ownership and then it all of a sudden becomes the dog's fault alone.

#15 looks remarkably like a pit bull...

And I had German Shepherd awhile back. He was awesome.

I lived out in the sticks so he was allowed to roam the property. One night, we heard him barking. I called him and he wouldn't come, which was out of character for him.

So I walked all the way out to where he was (about 100 yds from my house). He was barking at a tree...well...until I got to the other side of the tree.

That's where I saw 2 of my kids' friends hunched down behind the tree. With a bunch of toilet paper.

So, without telling my dog to do anything, I gave them a ration of **** about trying to TP my house. He just kept barking. Then I told them to walk back home. I did grab his collar so they weren't as scared to get up and leave.

Then, once they started down the road, I let his collar go and he and I trotted back to the house.

Damn...I miss Dieter. He was a good dog.
