In our lovely culture I'm sure there are no less than 10 nfl scouts trying to find this kid.

This doesn't happen in Singapore because of law and order, and a national culture of respect for your fellow law abiding citizens and law enforcement. We need to copy Singapore.

I wouldn't mind if we copied every law Singapore has and made it our laws.

He is not a threat? Uh he just threw a woman to the ground and beat her unconscious and could've easily killed her. Probably would have if people hadn't have pulled him off because the hits kept coming until then. That's the definition of a serious threat.

Regarding child conduct and how kids act in schools, I'll leave this nugget or two...

If America really knew what was going on in public high schools today, they would sh*t their pants. I would challenge anybody on this thread to pay a visit to your local HS and ask if you could get a tour with a school official. 1st off, that wouldn't happen; school officials would turn you down, regardless if you had a valid reason. If you did get that walk through, listen to the language spewing from the mouths of these students. I'm no prude and I have said words like you will here in the past, but everything that back in the day was a no-no, is common practice, common language. Observe how the kids dress: tramps, pigs and people that don't respect themselves. Look at the hair styles; the hair styles cost more than the clothes the kids are wearing if what the kids are wearing today is in reality clothing. Why is all this? No respect shown by parents towards the kids translates to the kids not showing teachers or other students respect too. Starts at the top, starts at the home. If the parents are idiots and cant raise the kids, what we have in schools today is the result.

Check this...a few weeks back, two 9th grade students that are not white, not oriental, not brown, not mid-eastern. not Samoan, not Pacific Islander got into s pushing, shoving, punching match 20-25' in front of me. Since I am a sub teacher at this high school, I am not allowed to try and break this up. So I stood their and watched and I saw members of the on group I did not mention film the incident. These kids are all hooting and laughing just having a good time watching. Anyway, one of the two kids tells the other kid that "you are tearing my shirt, you are tearing my shirt; don't do that; let me take my shirt off first (Kid was wearing a TuPac shirt or however you spell the guy's name). "you're tearing my shirt, tearing my shirt." Both kids separate, the one kid takes off the shirt, the other kid says he is sorry for tearing the shirt, the one kid hands the shirt off to somebody in the crowd, and then they start right up again. Wham, wham, wham. By now security people show up, a couple male teachers jump in and break everything up. Crowd with the cell phones starts clapping, not because the fight stopped but they were discussing the blows that were thrown and connected. Everybody walks away discussing what they had recorded on their cell phones. This crap happens all the time on a high school campus. Where does the blame lie...think about it.

A long, long time ago when I was about 10 or 12 a big punk (about 13-14 that got held back) tried doing that to our principal in Allen. Our principal was a former SMU O-lineman. Let's just say that back in those days the outcome was the opposite.

Yeah, that bothered me as well. The first time I saw it I thought maybe he had been looking at his phone and didn't really realize what was going on but he saw it clearly. walked way too slowly up to them. IMO

But when he does start the attack, very few people are around.

She's probably so far gone… What happened to her or someone she loved? She would probably be saying the same thing. There is nothing about what this guy did being not a threat. He would've kept beating that woman killed her if he had been pulled off of her. And thank God, the whole thing was caught on video because he cannot weasel out of this, or let's pray he doesn't. He is in a liberal city with a liberal DA he might get off with no or literally no punishment.

This story is sad, but it doesn't surprise me at all. I teach middle school in a "good" school, in a "good" district. The little things that kids are allowed to get away with add up over time. We (public schools) are teaching our students that there are no consequences, then we act shocked when something like this happens. If students had consequences for the small things, maybe they would change their behavior. Instead, they keep pushing more and more to see what they can get away with. They act shocked if a teacher tries to stop them or punish them in any way. I try to be a good teacher and I believe I am. I love the relationships I have with the kids who want to learn and want to know their teacher. The kids who constantly get verbally aggressive with me make me want to quit teaching. I keep asking myself how long it will be before the verbal aggression turns to physical aggression.

I do wish the parents of the "good" kids would be more outspoken and I wish they would go to the police, instead of administration for some of the things that happen on campus. It is the loud, angry parents or the loud, angry kids that get all of the attention and decisions are made to keep them quiet and keep the schools out of the headlines.

When he was being handcuffed, he asked the police officer if he was being arrested and he stated yes. And then he asked because he attacked the teacher and then he said that next time, he will kill her.
