Will win the Presidency with flying colors?

I love Trump and DeSantis equally. I really don't care which one it is even though I lean more to DeSantis but I will never have any disregard or negative feelings toward Trump.

But with that being said, why do y'all think that DeSantis will just win without a sweat ?

the cheating states are still going to cheat and it's not going matter that DeSantis is more polished than Trump and a little bit more likable it's not going make one effing difference.

The Democrats the deep state have too much at stake to allow a Republican president, but on top of that having at least one chamber of Congress as well. 2/3 of the control is way more than their willing to give up.

If it is DeSantis on election night, November 2024, it will still come down to the shenanigans in Pennsylvania, Wisconsin, Arizona and Michigan

Too many of y'all are nave to think DeSantis is just going waltz right into the White House because he's not hated as much as Trump so what if he's not it's not going make any difference. by the time November 2024 rolls around DeSantis will be hated just as much as Trump if not more

I think DeSantis would be overwhelmingly elected if he's nominated.

(assuming there isn't election fraud, and debates, mainstream media, and big tech are balanced)

You just fulfilled my concerns by your disclaimer if there's no fraud that's what I'm saying it's not gonna change anything if it's DeSantis pull your head out of your ass people

I don't think anyone around here thinks DeSantis or any Republican nominee would waltz into the White House with flying colors. It will be a hard fought battle to win.

Having said that, DeSantis is clearly the better candidate that has the best chance of winning. Nothing against Trump, he did what he could with the time he had and the circumstances he had to endure. But his time on the stage is over, and the best thing he could do for the country at this point is to step back and get behind DeSantis.

People are operating under the premise that this is a civil society, and we need "nice people" to lead us, instead of brash unapologetic politicians who talk smack.

I was honestly leaning towards DeSantis, but if what's coming regarding inflation & global conflict is as bad as it could be I don't want a nice guy in the hot seat. I want an ornery businessman who isn't afraid to make hard choices, and run his mouth a bit.

To be clear I like both candidates for different reasons, and will be voting for anyone but those politicians with a D next to their name.

Winning the Presidency will be no cake-walk for anyone. Except for Biden in which case it'll be an ice cream walk.

Because, rightfully or wrongfully, Trump galvanizes millions of voters to vote against him, and not just because he is a Republican. DeSantis doesn't have that same problem. Hopefully enough of those millions vote for DeSantis that wouldn't vote for Trump. But it won't be a win without a sweat. The dems will still cheat, it is how they roll and how despicable democrats are. They will have to cheat harder to beat DeSantis than to beat Trump.

After the SOTU, it's obvious the Dems are ridin with Biden. Therefore…..

Independents will crave competent leadership. DeSantis will get 90 million votes. Are they going to be able to create that many millions of votes in three States? Penn Wisc Mich

DeSantis wins Arizona, NC, Georgia, and possibly Virginia.

Republicans nominate Trump and millions of republicans stay home and independents pull the lever for Biden.

Trump is finished. And I loved him from 2015-2020

Trump can't win. His message at this point seems to be centered around personal grievances. If that's all he's got, he will get crushed.

DeSantis at least has the potential to win.

Sounds great to me. Just for argument sake, what do we do if DeSantis loses to Biden in a close electoral vote loss narrowly losing the vote in the necessary swing states?

What would be the plan for Republicans going forward?

Republicans who hate Trump, and either voted against him by pulling the lever for Biden, or simply stayed home, will be more than happy to get out and pull the lever for a man like DeSantis that doesn't disgust them.

Also, DeSantis won in very blue areas in Florida, which means he pulled in a lot of moderate Dems as well. Not an easy feat. Nationwide, those same types of moderate Dems will be more than happy to pull the lever for the guy.

Every election is never a cake-walk, but when every win is decided not by "the base" of any party, but by moderates; DeSantis is the best option and no one else is even close.

DeSantis '24.

I do not think Desantis will win simply because this country is no longer smart enough or informed enough to pick the better candidate.

90% of the electorate is going to vote one way or the other no matter who the candidate is. That leaves the 10% in the middle who are uninformed, apathetic people who wait until the last second to pick their candidate.

Then throw the cheating into the mix and you get Democrats from here on out.

There are millions of people on the right who just can't bring themselves to vote for Trump bc they "just don't like him". Tons of ordinary soccer mom types are genuinely repulsed by him.

We have to remember how petty and shallow so many people are. Desantis has that fight and puts media and other politicians in their place, but in a more surgical and high IQ way than super duper childish Trump.

Coming out of this disaster of an administration, and the tough years that came with it, I think Desantis is the dream candidate. Just look at his actions.

Who would even want to work with/for Trump at this point? His cabinet would be a disaster.

Id imagine it is bias. The educated, Christian posters who make up the majority of Texags active "conservative" posters want a hero that they can be proud of. Further a win by DeSantis would prove their ideals and means of it are right. Everyone wants that confirmation and it would restore faith in fellow Americans.

None of the above is wrong to want/feel. Just good to be conscious of it. Like you LDP, im more indifferent on which of the two gets the nod. Id prefer that the one who gets it is chosen based on ability to win. Which at this point we don't know. The two candidates have very different support bases.

OP, unlike you I'm a Trump voter who will not vote for him again. And as a Florida resident, I think that DeSantis will have a good chance at the nomination if he gets in to the race.

But getting ANY republican elected nationally will be a herculean task, and I pretty much assume at this point that whoever is the nominee for the republican party has a high probability of just being the "designated loser".

Check out the interactive map at electoralvotemap.com. Republicans would have to pick off a fair number of the toss up states, including those with a reputation for shenanigans (Fulton county in GA, Maricopa County in AZ, and Philadelphia precincts in PA). And then would have to pick up a few more toss up states just to get to 270.

DeSantis actually had some democrats endorse him in his re-election, and picked up both dem and independent votes. A pretty incredible feat, and one that Trump would have a hard time replicating.

If DeSantis wins the nomination, one of two things will happen.

#1 -- Trump runs independent and tears DeSantis down. By the time the election comes around, DeSantis will be "literally Hitler."
#2 -- Trump doesn't run and our media tears DeSantis down. Again..."literally Hitler."

Regardless, the emotional children in the country (i.e. Suburban women) will hate DeSantis just like they hate Trump. How many times have you heard: " I hate Biden, but I could never vote for Trump."

Thats funny. The only way that happens is if team trump sabotages DeSantis. De Santis vs Biden is an absolute bloodbath. The USA hasn't seen this level of competence and execution since the diabolical Obama, and we know what happened in those elections.

I disagree. I think these women will be MUCH more favorable towards Desantis than Trump. Soccer moms that I know of didn't hate Trump because the media told them to, they hated him because they truly think he's a sleazy old narcissistic bully. I think it's stupid and shallow, but Trump simply gives them too many reasons not to like him.

He really is one. I couldn't wait to vote for him in 2020 but he really is a sleazy old narcissistic bully. Most recent example of his garbage is basically calling Desantis a "groomer" for having a beer around hot chicks just a couple years younger than him like a normal red blooded American male in the 90's.

Trump burned through marriages and banged porn stars, yet we're supposed to believe he owns the moral high ground because of this??? LOL fugggg that

DeSantis will win because the Dems won't have Trump to get the massive turnout he generates for them and the never Trumper group ( of which I'm in ) is NA in the election tally.

This board has CONSISTENTLY under counted those that won't vote trump.

We are. Considering the red wave this last election never materialized when conditions have never been more ripe for something like that should tell us all something. And that being the country has decided to commit suicide.

There just aren't enough people left to get us back where we need to be. The demos after Gen X want socialism which begats communism.
