New gym culture is absolutely trash…

I spent a lot of years working for a Swede mega corp. At new hire orientation we had a gal from Germany as the primary instructor. She was quite attractive and probably 35-40. This was 2011. Anyway, she got to the part about dress code in the office. She went thru guys first, pretty standard business casual stuff. Then she got to women's attire and she said that it was permissible for ladies to wear sleeveless blouses, to show "reasonable" amount of cleavage, and skirts that were 1-2" above the knee, as well as tight fitting clothes as long were not see through and still could be considered business casual at a minimum.
But here is the best part. She then told the class that if you are a women and you show cleavage, wear shorter skirts, etc, and you notice men (or women) looking at the parts of your body these clothes highlight - that's on you. Don't go complaining to HR. She said if a guy walks around the office with a red siren on his head, it will without question cause people to stare. Showing a lot of leg, breasts, or your backside will do the same and you can't expect the men not to look.
Maybe that is a european perspective, I don't know, but I thought it was a pretty cool take on things.

Saw this on Matt Walsh's channel, he took them to task. They have been getting pretty big blowback from these stunts, as they should. Pure narcissism guised as some twisted victimhood.
Btw, the girl in the OP's video posts photos on an OF copy cat website.
Talking to someone at the gym doesn’t mean they’re hitting on you and EVERYTHING doesn’t need to be posted on social media. pic.twitter.com/20oMlnIxBE

Gyms have always been about being seen while working out. I bet it's a Pareto distribution with about 10% of the patrons actually there to get fit. The rest are there to be seen or to gawk at others.
That was an absolute tear down!fightingfarmer09 said:

My gym isn't THAT bad, but there are a handful of usual suspects that basically try to look like they're about to walk onto the set of a gym themed porno. It is hard not to take a quick glance every now and then and I am not one to stare, but with some of them, yes, it is like they are constantly looking around to see if you or another guy is watching them. You basically have to just block these girls out and pretend they don't exist. It's weird, because my gym seems like mostly average joes and people serious about working out, and there's usually just one or two of these girls in there are a time, max. Women are becoming increasingly screwed up in this country. I guess men are too, in different ways.Nanomachines son said:Women are harassed in gyms and it needs to stop, but you are not one of them. I'm not sure if anyone pays attention to social media much but this video from this woman went viral. She's working out in a gym in basically nothing and this guy, who is clearly just waiting on the squat rack, glances over a few times at the obviously crazy woman filming and muttering to herself and then helps her when she is struggling with plates.
She made a Tik Tok video about it and posted the video to shame the guy. He of course got doxxed by other hysterical women.
We live in an era where women wear nothing to the gym yet if a man looks at them, they are now claiming it's basically rape. It's wild now. I train when they ain't there. Gonna have to build a gym soon

When professional bodybuilders and Olympia winners at that, who walked around on stage in their underwear, are claiming it's making them uncomfortable to work out in a public gym, you know it's bad.
The passive aggressiveness is completely out of control and there is very little any man can do about it because you have no idea if you're being filmed or not. **** like this is why I workout late at night when no one is there. I hate what social media has done to gyms, it's turned it into a ****show of cameras, tripods, and other bull*****
I am convinced that these are the same cohort who don't return shopping carts and don't care if they hold you up behind them while playing on their phones when the light turns green.JW said:
Nothing worse than people hogging a squat rack, deeking around on their phones.
You have just described almost anyone under the age of 30. In the gym, it is way worse...Brittmoore Car Club said:I am convinced that these are the same cohort who don't return shopping carts and don't care if they hold you up behind them while playing on their phones when the light turns green.JW said:

The nerve some of these ppl have is incredible.
What was she doing? Pelvic thrusts at the squat rack? WTF exercise is that?nomad2007 said:
Poor guy kept glancing over probably because she couldn't seem to figure out what the **** to do and he was thinking, "Ah **** this lady gonna hurt herself trying that wrong"
I have certain pet peeves about gym behavior. My personal favorite is people hogging two pieces of equipment at once, leaving a towel behind on the one they are not using to "reserve" it. I used to be extremely passive/aggressive about this and would eagerly brush their towel to the floor. Now I just go use another piece of equipment and come back later to see if they are gone. I like to mix up the order I use equipment anyway.ttha_aggie_09 said:You have just described almost anyone under the age of 30. People sitting around on equipment they're not even using but essentially blocking people from using (yes - you can ask them to move but not everyone in the gym feels comfortable doing so)
Standing directly in high traffic corridors with zero regard for anyone else
Blocking sinks in the bathroom for their tiktok gym pump photo (this seriously happens)
Using Curl Bars or foam rollers as their selfie tripod as they proceed to do some meaningless or incorrect form exercise for their Instagram followers
Very rarely put their weights back after using them and act like you just asked for a pound of flesh if you ask them to re-rack their weight
Everyone is so caught up with themselves they are completely oblivious other people exist around them...
The world would be a much better place if all women were required to hear this woman explain this simple logic and common sense. If you don't want to be seen sexually then don't dress sexually. If you don't care that people view you sexually than do as you will (with some limits).Urban Ag said:

Women want to be looked at, but only by a guy who they believe is worthy to do so, so they dress this way to get the attention.
However, if you are not the kind of guy they want looking at them, then be prepared for a full scale nuclear strike.
