Indeed. Trump as the president and therefore the ultimate OCA, had the power to classify and declassify at will and was not beholden to any bureaucratic classification or declassification processes. As vice president Biden didn't have these powers. It's really that simple.

How long do you want to ignore this user?
It is that simple, but of course the left and the media and the ones we've been screaming about this for months are going to deflect and change the rules.

They're not even hiding it anymore

Also, Joe Biden and his family have extensive corrupt foreign business ties. Donald Trump does not.

The current president is completely compromised. Who all did he let see those documents for payment?

I could potentially by a think tank/vice presidential "library" having official documents by mistake. It's the govt after all.

However, it's hard to square a think tank heavily into Chinese issues headed by a former vice president mistakenly having classified docs.

It's even more unbelievable that documents found in his garage or personal library were there by mistake. Or that he didn't know what they were.

There's no spinning this. And the left/media is correct. Trump and Biden's cases are apples and oranges. Biden has clearly committed a criminal act. Trump is up for debate

NY Times doesn't know nearly enough information to write such an article.

I remember the last time they were accused of doing the same thing but it was "(D)ifferent".

One of them had wording on a phone call twisted around into an alleged threat to withhold aid if they didn't help him out with a political problem and the result was 24/7 news coverage for months and he was impeached in an attempt by the Democrats to remove him from the Presidency.

The other was caught on live video saying if they didn't do him a political favor by the end of the day, he was specifically going to withhold aid and the result was he was nominated by the Democrats and ultimately elected to the Presidency.

Yep, they are (D)ifferent.

(edited to add clarity that Biden was actually elected president despite doing something they tried to remove Trump for doing.)

Nope- there are at least THREE locations where classified documents were found on Biden

his UPENN grift scam office in DC with the Red Chicoms

one of his two homes in Delaware

his garage in Delaware next to the car

maybe a reporter in the Pravda media- if they are too stupid to think up their own actual questions could just ask some of these:

-why were your attorneys suddenly looking for documents in your garage?

-who took the documents from the National Archives?

-when did you first know that you had improperly taken classified documents?

-who has access to your garage?

-who has access to the UPENN Biden think tank?

explain how it is more safe to store classified documents in a garage than in a locked closet in a secured Mar A Lago estate

Funny. During his presidential campaign, Joe Biden assured voters that he was a true professional and would get government working as it should. Clearly, if the story is to be believed, he didn't mean how he personally acts in office. According to his former aides, the transition time was all a whirlwind. Joe Biden, grieving the loss of his son, Beau, a year after his death, and trying to stay busy with work, continued on until the very last minute possible. This made it incredibly difficult for staff to properly box up papers, as new ones arrived daily. At the time, he assumed it was the end of his political career. If only that had turned out to be true.
Quote:

Partly to wrap up his policy portfolios, partly to tout his accomplishments, and partly to occupy himself following the death of his son a year earlier, Biden thrust himself into work in a final sprint to mark what then appeared to be the end of a four-decade run at the highest levels of government.

As Biden was busy keeping busy, however, his office was shutting down. Aides scrambled to pack up his workspaces in the West Wing, the Eisenhower Executive Office Building and at his official residence, the Naval Observatory.

Those competing objectives to use his office until the final minutes even as it was obliged to shut down made for a muddled and hurried process that left aides packing boxes of documents and papers late into the night, even as more material kept arriving.

I have to assume that Biden was requesting those deliveries. Have to be records of which docs he was requesting, right?

And wouldn't there be some sort of catalog of classified docs?

This excuse is nonsense. Biden took the documents he wanted and got sloppy.

Remember, Watergate started as a breaking and ended in a resignation

even logicallly, it would be better and less criminal if you were FIGHTING THE GOVERNMENT for the right to keep them, because it demonstrates the fact YOU BELIEVE IT IS LEGAL TO KEEP THEM.

it's much worse if you get busted and say "oh yeah, these don't belong to me!"

kind of like the drug dealer tossing his pills when he sees the cops, versus a guy telling the cops
"these are legally prescribed pills that belong to me"

how are leftists so dumb?

CBS NEWS JANUARY 13

BARNETT: "For a second straight day now, the White House is struggling to answer any questions related to classified documents discovered at locations associated with President Biden, citing Karine Jean-Pierre there, the press secretary

simply reading a statement, where she says the president was surprised by the discovery, takes this matter very seriously, documents were inadvertently misplaced and he doesn't know what's in them. But, Lana, we have been listening here.

She has not answered a single question, outside of a prewritten statement by the president's lawyers."

ZAK: "Exactly. And continuing then to say the same thing again and again.

Even in response to very simple questions about the timeline, about the specific location, clarifying questions, and continuing to use the word 'transparent' and saying that they did things in a transparent manner.

You heard our own CBS's Ed O'Keefe, really trying to pin her down on what she means by transparency when she's saying that she has been transparent, does that mean legal transparency, governmental transparency as required by law, or public transparency? We are going to continue to set those questions to the government "
