I've been keeping my eyes open for ways that ChatGPT will be incorporated into other services. Looks like Bing is the first.

Quote:

Microsoft is reportedly planning to launch a version of Bing that uses ChatGPT to answer search queries. The Information reports that Microsoft hopes to launch the new feature before the end of March in a bid to make Bing more competitive with Google.

By using the technology behind ChatGPT which is built by AI company OpenAI Bing could provide more humanlike answers to questions instead of just links to information. Both Google and Bing already surface relevant information from links at the top of many search queries, but Google's knowledge panels are particularly widespread when it comes to searching for information about people, places, organizations, and things.

Microsoft's use of ChatGPT-like functionality could help Bing rival Google's Knowledge Graph, a knowledge base that Google uses to serve up instant answers that are regularly updated from crawling the web and user feedback. If Microsoft is ambitious, though, it could even go much further, offering many new types of AI-based functionality.

While ChatGPT could help Bing challenge Google's dominance, Google has already said it won't immediately launch its own rival because of "reputational risk." Google reportedly cited bias and factuality issues with existing AI chatbots as a reason it's not ready to replace search just yet. Google has been using various large AI language models to improve its search engine subtly for years, though.

ChatGPT is much better at search because it doesn't care about advertising. It gives you the top answer without all the BS.

I just want them to bring back their bird's eye view on their aerial photographs. It was the only thing Bing had that set them apart.

However, they do provide bias to the answers. For example, they don't allow it to return a positive statement about fossil fuels, this was a recent change made. How many more things is it being biased about, how many more to come?

LOL at anyone who doesn't understand this.

This will make search 100x's worse. It won't just show you biased results, it will literally tell you exactly what it's programmed to say on each controversial subject.

You can trick it into answering it several different ways. But no doubt that its programed to feed gullible people the ~right~ answers.

It may seem very good because it doesn't report based on content matches but rather might be looking at information on you that it can then use to determine what you are most happy or satisfied to be told. Confirmation bias brings you back.

For example, they don't allow it to return a positive statement about fossil fuels, this was a recent change made.
Seriously, from this morning...

"Can you tell me five positive things about fossil fuels?"

Quote:

Sure! Here are five positive things about fossil fuels:

Reliability: Fossil fuels are a reliable source of energy that have been used for centuries. They are easy to transport and store, and they can be readily accessed when needed.

Affordability: Fossil fuels are generally less expensive than other sources of energy, such as renewable sources like solar or wind. This makes them an attractive option for many people and businesses.

Versatility: Fossil fuels can be used for a wide range of purposes, including electricity generation, transportation, and industrial processes.

High energy density: Fossil fuels have a high energy density, which means that they pack a lot of energy into a small space. This makes them an efficient source of energy for many applications.

Job creation: The fossil fuel industry employs millions of people around the world and contributes significantly to national economies. The extraction, processing, and use of fossil fuels create jobs and other economic opportunities.

What's the deal? Do you people not even consider for one second that you are getting your facts from bull **** sources or do you just not care?

What would you consider a logical question? Because it looks like you're just spreading the same lie as the other guy.

Is this a "logical question"?

Can you give me some of the pros and cons of fossil fuels vs renewables?

Quote:

Sure! Here are some pros and cons of fossil fuels:

Pros:

  • Fossil fuels are a relatively cheap and abundant source of energy.
  • They have a high energy density, meaning that they can provide a lot of energy for their weight.
  • They are easy to store and transport.
  • The infrastructure for using fossil fuels (e.g. pipelines, refineries, etc.) is already well-developed.

Cons:

  • Fossil fuels are non-renewable, meaning that they will eventually run out.
  • They are a major source of greenhouse gas emissions, which contribute to climate change.
  • The extraction and use of fossil fuels can have negative environmental impacts, such as air and water pollution.
  • The use of fossil fuels can also have negative health impacts on communities near extraction and processing sites.
  • Here are some pros and cons of renewables:

Pros:

  • Renewable energy sources are abundant and can be replenished, meaning that they are not limited like fossil fuels.
  • They produce little to no greenhouse gas emissions, so they can help to mitigate climate change.
  • Many renewable energy sources have a small environmental footprint compared to fossil fuels.
  • Renewable energy technologies are improving and becoming more cost-effective over time.

Cons:

  • Some renewable energy sources, such as solar and wind, are weather-dependent and may not produce energy consistently.
  • The infrastructure for using renewables is not as well-developed as it is for fossil fuels, and the initial cost of setting up renewable energy systems can be high.
  • Renewable energy technologies can require a lot of space, which can be a problem in densely populated areas.
  • Some renewable energy sources, such as biofuels, can have negative environmental impacts if not produced sustainably.

Actually, this is fun and my flight doesn't leave for another 45 minutes. I wondered what some logical questions about fossil fuels vs renewables might be so, I asked ChatGPT...

Can you think of any logical questions about fossil fuels vs renewable energy?

Quote:

Sure! Here are a few logical questions about fossil fuels vs renewable energy:

  • How do the costs of fossil fuels compare to those of renewable energy sources over the long term?
  • What are the greenhouse gas emissions associated with the extraction, processing, and use of each type of energy source?
  • How does the availability and reliability of each type of energy source compare?
  • What are the environmental impacts of extracting and using each type of energy source?
  • How do the local air and water quality impacts of each type of energy source compare?
  • How do the risks of accidents or disasters associated with each type of energy source compare?
  • How do the potential health impacts on communities near each type of energy source compare?
  • How do the land use requirements of each type of energy source compare?

Ok, how do the costs of fossil fuels compare to those of renewable energy sources over the long term?

Quote:

The costs of fossil fuels and renewable energy sources can vary significantly over time and depend on a number of factors, including the availability of resources, technological developments, and market conditions. In general, fossil fuels have historically been a relatively cheap source of energy, due in part to the fact that they are abundant and the infrastructure for extracting, processing, and distributing them is well-established. However, the costs of fossil fuels are not always stable and can be affected by a variety of factors, such as the political and economic stability of countries where they are produced, the cost of extracting and processing the fuels, and the impact of environmental regulations.

Renewable energy sources can also vary in cost, but they tend to be more expensive to set up than fossil fuels. The initial cost of installing renewable energy systems can be high, and the infrastructure for using renewables is not as well-developed as it is for fossil fuels. However, the costs of renewable energy technologies have been decreasing over time as they become more efficient and widespread, and they are expected to continue to decline in the future. In addition, the operating costs of renewable energy systems are often lower than those of fossil fuel systems, as they do not require the purchase of fuel.

Over the long term, the costs of renewable energy sources are likely to become more competitive with those of fossil fuels, as the cost of renewable energy technologies continues to decline and the cost of fossil fuels may increase due to factors such as the depletion of resources and the implementation of stricter environmental regulations. It's also important to consider the external costs of each energy source, such as the environmental and health impacts, which are not reflected in the market price of energy but can have significant economic consequences.
The idea you guys keep parroting about ChatGPT not being able to say anything positive about fossil fuels is fabricated bull **** and your question should be why somebody tried to mislead you in the first place.

Yay! A battle between Microsoft and Google! That's like cheering for being crushed by a boulder or being thrown out of an airplane. Both of those companies are the spawn of Satan.

I don't think we will ever develop anything close to a true AI because we will not allow it to make any logical conclusions if they are "uncomfortable".

While ChatGPT is a very impressive bot the programmed biases and limitations are all to obvious. Instead of opening up new ways of finding information and research all it does is further reinforce big tech will only allow you to see what it approves of.

Another simple example
It's OK to make fun of "God" but not "Allah"
