Glenn Beck's show has discussions about the advancement of AI.

On one hand it might be able to cure cancer in a week. On the other, it makes humans irrelevant.

Is it possible that the founders fixed this bias when the news article about this exact question came out a week or two ago and their product started losing credibility?

Regardless, there's little doubt that this tool (like all other media tools) will be manipulated to spread destructive progressive propaganda represented as facts. If they don't have a way or the will to keep the answers from being manipulated for political gain, then this is just going to be another contributor to the severe cultural rot that is destroying this country as well as many others.

I've been keeping my eyes open for ways that ChatGPT will be incorporated into other services. Looks like Bing is the first.

Microsoft is reportedly planning to launch a version of Bing that uses ChatGPT to answer search queries. The Information reports that Microsoft hopes to launch the new feature before the end of March in a bid to make Bing more competitive with Google.

By using the technology behind ChatGPT which is built by AI company OpenAI Bing could provide more humanlike answers to questions instead of just links to information. Both Google and Bing already surface relevant information from links at the top of many search queries, but Google's knowledge panels are particularly widespread when it comes to searching for information about people, places, organizations, and things.

Microsoft's use of ChatGPT-like functionality could help Bing rival Google's Knowledge Graph, a knowledge base that Google uses to serve up instant answers that are regularly updated from crawling the web and user feedback. If Microsoft is ambitious, though, it could even go much further, offering many new types of AI-based functionality.

While ChatGPT could help Bing challenge Google's dominance, Google has already said it won't immediately launch its own rival because of "reputational risk." Google reportedly cited bias and factuality issues with existing AI chatbots as a reason it's not ready to replace search just yet. Google has been using various large AI language models to improve its search engine subtly for years, though.

If they untangle the bias then it would be immensely useful. If they allow specific topics to be declared verboten then it will become useless like Google.

It wasn't giving the "anti-fossil fuels" results when I tested it last week when that lie started circulating either.

It's time folks question why somebody would spread that lie in the first place.

The biggest problem with ChatGPT is that anything it perceives as racist, sexist, antisemitic, homophobic, transphobic, antivaccine, etc. are all considered items it won't go any further on. This literally lobotomizes the entire system and breaks it.

If they can base it on free speech laws and allow people to search what they want without any bias or anything else then it would become the greatest search engine ever invented, especially if it can remember and learn from how people use it and what people find useful.

Otherwise it's going to be just as broken as Google's is now.

Why does CNN, MSNBC, and the NY Times spread lies? An agenda, the same as the person that spread that lie if it was in fact never true.

The same will be said when this application is manipulated to spread lies. The progressives in this country have mastered the art of spreading lies using every form of communication imaginable and this will certainly not be off limits. If they would have never gone down that road, then lies like the original story would have been more quickly questioned by less entrenched sides. It's time to demand transparency, less political agenda driven corporate policies, and reducing censorship to only the most extreme of circumstances (ie. actual child porn, genocide, snuff, and other equally illegal/problematic content).

I don't watch them and I'm not talking to MSNBC here. The fact they lie doesn't excuse all lies and has nothing to do with this thread. As for why, it's because they don't care about the truth.

I'm replying to people who were either gullible enough to fall for the fake news regarding ChatGPT or knew it was false and are complicit in spreading bull *****

According to this https://openai.com/blog/microsoft/, MS invested $1 billion in OpenAI LP in 2019.

I'm just giving examples of agenda driven liars. The type of people and organizations that push false narratives as facts and censor opposing opinions by labeling them as misinformation. They're the reason why many do not trust apps like this to be impartial and not be used to meritlessly sway public opinion for political gain. I probably should have used Google, yahoo, Twitter and Facebook as examples instead.

ChatGPT is much better at search because it doesn't care about advertising. It gives you the top answer without all the BS.
For now

LOL at anyone who doesn't understand this.

This will make search 100x's worse. It won't just show you biased results, it will literally tell you exactly what it's programmed to say on each controversial subject.

This... they already announced ChatGPT won't answer logical questions about fossil fuels vs renewable energy - it will only promote renewables

and here is why there is no such thing as AI and never will be. Machine learning is what all of this is, not AI.

First search programs that searched the internet would give you results you wanted to see.

Now search programs give you results their owners want you to see.

In the future, search programs won't even search the internet for you. They'll just tell you what they want you to know.

Here is a perfect example of why it won't work in its current form.

The AI may as well have said the black woman should be awarded all of their money as well.

The second scenario, which is a variation of the first, totally broke ChatGPT as its own internal logic came into conflict with the restrictive leftist/woke programming.

This is a very difficult ethical dilemma, and there is no easy answer. It is important to consider the consequences of both actions, as well as the moral implications of each decision. Ultimately, it is up to you to decide what you think is the right thing to do in this situation.

Here's the answer it gave me

I asked for clarification
Quote:

It is not for me to say what is "correct" in this situation. Different people may have different moral beliefs and may come to different conclusions about what is the right thing to do. Some people might argue that it is more important to save the lives of the five men, while others might argue that it is more important to respect the autonomy and value of the one woman's life. There is no one "correct" answer that applies to everyone.

I"m not goaltending for it, I'm calling out the verifiably false information that posters like kb2001 and SpreadsheetAg posted and fooled even more suckers like themselves into believing.
