The man accused of murdering four University of Idaho students in November had thoroughly cleaned the interior and exterior of his car and was also seen wearing surgical gloves multiple times before being apprehended, a law enforcement source tells CNN.
Bryan Kohberger, 28, is currently the sole suspect in the gruesome stabbings of students Kaylee Goncalves, 21; Madison Mogen, 21; Xana Kernodle, 20; and Ethan Chapin, 20, who were found dead inside their off-campus house in Moscow, Idaho, on November 13.
Kohberger, who was pursuing a PhD in criminal justice at Washington State University at the time of the killings, "cleaned his car, inside and outside, not missing an inch," according to the law enforcement source.
Quote:
The source, who spoke on the condition of anonymity, was briefed on observations made by investigators during four days of surveillance leading up to Kohberger's arrest at his family's Pennsylvania home on December 30.
Quote:
A surveillance team assigned to Kohberger was tasked with two missions, according to multiple law enforcement sources: keep eyes on Kohberger so they could arrest him as soon as a warrant was issued, and try to obtain an object that would yield a DNA sample from Kohberger, which could then be compared to DNA evidence found at the crime scene.
Kohberger was seen multiple times outside the Pennsylvania home wearing surgical gloves, according to the law enforcement source.
READ THE RESTQuote:
In one instance prior to Kohberger's arrest, authorities observed him leaving his family home around 4 a.m. and putting trash bags in the neighbors' garbage bins, according to the source. At that point, agents recovered garbage from the Kohberger family's trash bins and what was observed being placed into the neighbors' bins, the source said.
The recovered items were sent to the Idaho State Lab, per the source.
Last Friday, a Pennsylvania State Police SWAT team then moved in on the Kohberger family home, breaking down the door and windows in what is known as a "dynamic entry" -- a tactic used in rare cases to arrest "high risk" suspects, the source added.
BK did not say anything directly to the surviving roommate. He was likely speaking to Xana before he killed her.Quote:
but when she saw him and he saw her, he said "I'm here to help". She didn't think anything else of it

From the pings, it looks like he parked on the road above and to the southeast (?) side of the house. That means the slider on the second floor was more likely the means of egress and ingress. Parking somewhere near where that blue car in parked.

How does she see his eyebrows though? I'm thinking door was cracked and he was walking from X & E room toward her so maybe he didn't see her.Quote:
I could easily see in the pitch black dark with DM's door slightly open that he doesn't even look that way and goes left out the sliding door but she was likely within 2-5 feet of him as he walked by her on his way out. Super freaky.
Disagree. He was more likely coming from Xana's bedroom on the second floor because of the way that DM's bedroom door swings. She would have had to poke her head out to see him coming down the stairs from the third floor.Quote:
She then opened her door and saw the killer walking towards her (presumably down the stairs if M&k were the last victims) before he exited the house through the kitchen and the sliding door in the adjacent room
never thought of it that way, that actually sounds pretty plausibleCashinOut said:
Could it be that he committed the murders, left, realized that he left evidence behind and went back to the scene. That's when the roommate saw him walking through the house. So no knife, no hurry, nothing strange about him. Just him going through the house, but when she saw him and he saw her, he said "I'm here to help". She didn't think anything else of it. She didn't know who he was but said he was here to help. She took it as that and went back to bed. He might have thought she was going to call 911 and decided it wasn't worth getting caught and left the house.
If this happens, I'm not insidelooking

the poor girl that saw him leave said he was dressed n black, she didn't mention any signs of blood on him.
Did he pull a Lizzy Borden and shower after he butchered these kids?
Well it was dark outside at the time and I believe she saw him out the window (could be wrong). Even if she saw him inside, I doubt it was lighted at all. It would probably be pretty difficult to see blood on black clothes in that context.
that's exactly what she states in the affidavit.

I assume the 4 victims didnt die right away after getting stabbed, and could have been saved with medical attention?LMCane said:AggiePetro07 said:I read it. It is unusual that she didn't call the cops very soon after. Now there are plenty of reasonable reasons why she wouldn't have, but it is still very unusual.LMCane said:
as others have stated- if you are going to make wild claims at least read the actual affidavit first!
Kohberger Killings
it is literally chilling.
DM is going to be having vicious nightmares for the rest of her life. I can't imagine the trauma of what she must be going through which is a living hell right now.
This is a message board. No need to get so bent out of shape for people noticing something like that.
and DM is completely going to be in therapy the rest of her life- coming face to face with the killer. the guilt and trauma and horror will be very hard to overcome.
and if we have random folks on here postulating she was HELPING the murderer- well that is probably not going to be great for her mental health either.

I read an article where an FBI agent said he was probably worn out because of the amount of mental and physical energy it would have taken to stab 4 people to death.Corn Pop said:
Why in the world would he let them live?
He could have gotten spooked by something. There are lots of possibilities.Corn Pop said:
What doesn't make sense is this:
This was either totally random or I've seen many on here speculate that the targets were Xana and Maddie. If either were the case he'd already shown his willingness to brutally murder two other people. This was highly planned and he clearly thought he was getting away from it due to him being so calm on the traffic stops going back to PA. He had been stalking the house for MONTHS and several times the night of the murders. There's next to no chance that he did not know that there were two other people in that house. Why in the world would he let them live?
That doesnt seem uncommon for college kids to get food delivery at 4am after a night out lol. She probably ordered it at 3am and it took an hour or so to get there.PA24 said:
