It is undeniably odd that she didn't call the police as soon as possible given what was stated in the affidavit.

Disagree completely. Her mindset wasn't "my friends just got stabbed to death." She had no idea what was going on, could have been inebriated, had no clue who that was, didn't hear any further words from her roommates, it was late as ***** Lots of things going on here that would lead her to either go back into her room and sleep off a drunk, go into her room scared of whoever it was (but again not thinking anything happened), go into her room thinking it was the dude she heard talking to one of the girls saying 'it's going to be ok' etc.

It's very easy in hindsight to say "why didn't she call the police if she said she was in a state of shock when the guy walked by her."

Right now it's not undeniably odd at all based on what we've read.
That's fair. Hindsight is 20/20.

True. Seeing a stranger in the house might very well startle someone.

Now, add alcohol and/or lack of sleep the fact that this was a known party house... after being initially startled, one could pull it together and convince yourself that is was nothing and go to bed, pass out and the other roommate calls 911 later.

All that said, I really don't know. It's a good and very obvious question. Do any of you think the police didn't ask it already?

Nothing about the "we stopped the suspects vehicle to look at his hands" makes sense. I suspect there was another reason they have not disclosed.
Agreed.

Of course, was directed by the FBI, so clown world not surprising.
Concur as well and to me irresponsible to put B&W at risk twice when that could have been done a bunch of other ways in the prior weeks. PCA does NOT state directed to stop BK only that ISP queried the Elantra at 2:26PM. FBI also now denying reports that this was a directed stop.

I wonder what is the date of the interviews with DM and the return of DNA profile or at least presence of sole source DNA present. DM description is pretty accurate but they never put that out to the public to help in the search. I bet they said it would be better to just wait and get a single person versus flooded with all kinds of bushy eyebrowed, 6', skinny dudes.

Page 16 second paragraph, on at least 12 occasions his cell pinged the coverage tower(s) covering King Road between June 2022 and Nov 13, 2022 all occurring late at night or early morning hours except for one. On one of these occasions he was pulled over in traffic stop by Latah County Sherriff.

Page 18. DNA obtained from trash flown on 12-28-22 from PA to ID state lab. Redditors commented that same plane BK extradited on was tracked PA to Boise return PA on 28th. Looks like as soon as they had secondary confirmation from the DNA the arrest warrant was signed.

PCA never states the DNA belongs to Brian am I reading page 18 correctly that the DNA on the knive sheeth was his fathers? This means they did not have an ID only a profile and the profiles between the knife sheeth and the trash matched and belong to the father. The Elantra actually led them to the suspect before the DNA. If this is correct then I wonder why they didn't think to have PA start taking trash from his parents place sometime after NOV 27th or did it take them that long to realize where his parents lived.

pretty sure the affidavit is claiming that Kohberger

drove past the murder site at least 12 times in the months previous to the attacks.

I think what you are missing is the DNA of the father collected from the garbage had a 99.9% chance that Bryan had his same DNA on the sheath

Just to lighten the mood a little....how ****ty a driver is this loser to get pulled over at least twice within a few months of living in Pullman, and then twice within hours of each other driving back home to PA?

I think i've been pulled over only 4 times in the last 10 years.

the suspect vehicle made FOUR trips around the block of the victims in the hours before the killings.

then, genius murderer drove DIRECTLY back to Pullman Washington at a high rate of speed.

brilliant!

If you're going to jump everyone else for not getting the facts straight, maybe you should go back and read the affidavit yourself. You'll notice that he did not drive DIRECTLY back to Pullman at a high rate of speed. He may have left the scene quickly, but then he drove well out of his way taking over an hour to get back to Pullman. His phone first pinged again 20-30 mins after the murders south of Moscow, and showed him pulling into Pullman around 5:30am, about an hour after the murders.

Police had already zeroed in on Kohberger before the DNA sample, by using surveillance cameras and getting permission from WSU to look at theirs and identifying his car and ultimately him.

They have DNA from the sheath but dont' want to try and spook him by stealing his trash or a coffee cup, etc.

So they go to PA, wait for pops to bring out his trash and then it confirms pops' DNA is a 99.985% paternal match to what was found on the sheath.

not sure how you conclude that when the corner said they were really horrific injuries I read somewhere one of the girls was nearly decapitated.
...reading the affidavit, one of the girl's fatal wounds were described as being made with a bladed instrument while others referenced stabbing or a pointed instrument. I assume the one described as being with a bladed instrument means cutting the jugular, maybe to the point of near decapitation. Just pointing it out, not disagreeing with your post.

never thought about the fact that USING YOUR OWN VEHICLE to commit a quadruple murder, driving around the victims house dozens of times in the weeks proceeding the crime, and then driving directly back to your own house after the crime-

might just tip off the police.

You'd think if you were one of the most wanted men in the nation, you'd be driving like you were smuggling a load for the cartel and your life depended on it. I mean, he's obviously insane...so probably just very erratic in general.

Affidavit doesn't say anything about her standing in the hallway. It says she opened her door and saw him walking towards her.

Ever since the murders, people have been asking "What about security video?". It seems they had just that, and were able to track his movement to and from the crime scene.

"walking towards her.

D.M.described the figure as 5 foot 10 inch or taller, male, not very muscular, but athletically built with bushy eyebrows. The male walked past D.M"

The PCA doesn't say she was in the hallway or in full view.

Now, it does say she locked herself in her room afterwards, which may be contrary to my speculation. I'll not speculate about it anymore.

As I said, her actions make for good and obvious questions, which I hope were answered to the satisfaction of the police some time ago.

The last two were pretext stops. They were looking for a reason to pull him over. If he was indeed following too close and gave them a valid reason, well that shouldn't be too surprising at this point from our criminal mastermind.

it was definitely the cameras all around the neighborhood that showed the Elantra constantly entering the small block the house was on in the time frame of the murders.

if he was actually intelligent- he would have rented a vehicle, taken off the license plates, driven once to Idaho, parked a mile away, walked with a hoody and Covid mask

The two stops on his drive to PA were intentional by law enforcement. They came up with 'following too close' as justification for those n

Everybody has a DNA profile but the profile still needs to get linked to an actual ID of a person. This get run through CODIS but if your not in there or on one of the ancestry cites its still just an unidentified profile.

OK so the term suspect boldened below is specific to BK and not killer in general and they are ruling out the father because profile would be so close?

Text from PCA copied below:

The Idaho state lab later located a single source ofmale DNA (suspect Profile) left on the button snap of the knife sheath.

On December 27, 2022, Pennsylvania Agents recovered the trash from the Kohberger family residence located in Albrightsville, PA. That evidence was sent to the Idaho State Lab for testing. On December 28,2022, the Idaho State Lab reported that a DNA profile obtained from the trash and the DNA profile obtained from the sheath, identified a male as not being excluded as the biological father of Suspect Profile. At least 99.9998% of the male population would be expected to be excluded from the possibility of being the suspect's biological father

Wording is odd to me and why didnt they confirm with DNA sample from his trash at his apartment??

If they said they have the car on video driving at 0405 and 0420, why do they say the murders happened between 0400-0425?

Do they think someone was driving possibly? Did I read that right?

Was he watching the house lights before and waiting for them to turn off?

Does anyone remember the dates that Bryan posted his weird crime surveys on reddit? The affidavit states that he purchased the new phone account on June 23rd, 2022. Very low chance that he, at 27 years old, didnt have a previous number.

I remember it being a few months before the murder, maybe June, but all of the threads have been deleted.

Wondering which happened first, the survey or the new phone.

Also, the USMC on the knife is interesting. If he or one of his family members were not in the marine corps, he might have been ditching the sheath to try and frame someone. Perhaps he lifted the knife from someone he wanted to set up and just screwed it up. Hence why he was asking "if anyone else was arrested".

Same reason for the term of art "on or about X date," and the like. Do not want to be so specific and get locked in on wrong detail.

I'm going through the affidavit (horrific) and an early thought when they described what the roommate saw: you cannot put too much blame on her for not responding to seeing a dude with a mask because COVID made the wearing of a mask commonplace. She could have easily thought that a one-nighter was leaving and was still masking up.
Read the affidavit

The male walked past D.M. as she stood in a "frozen shock phase."
