He's probably saying that because serial killers are high IQ people. Not because he's a phd clown.

Right. I mean, if I have a male neighbor who owns a white elantra and that car disappears right after a white Elantra becomes a vehicle of interest, I'm friggin calling it in when I otherwise would never do that unless there were other suspicious issues with him

bro- I think you are forgetting about the ACTUAL problem he has.

it's not that someone would be suspicious of his car.

it's that the Police MAY FIND crime scene evidence in his vehicle!!

if you successfully get rid of the vehicle, no evidence against you.

who cares if your neighbor is suspicious.

do you know what cars all your neighbors drive?!?! he could claim it was STOLEN

Correct.

This type of murder isn't a drunk guy getting mad over someone looking at his girl. I am saying that people who take the time to do things like this are often fairly intelligent people who are wired very differently. And they tend to think they're smarter than everyone else.

Surprised he didn't dump his car in a lake or burn it out and run away to Mexico or Russia.

So if this is the murderer, what do you think the plea will be? Guilty? If not, they will try to build up the insanity defense? They must have plenty of evidence tying him back to the area that should come out in short order unless it is small enough not to pollute the case, but killing 4 people has to have some threads all over and likely his DNA at site?
sorry but that is not the legal definition of "insanity"

that defense is for homeless bums going crazy on the street and acting out.

this guy PLANNED THE MURDERS, stalked the prey, then took steps to cover his tracks.

there is ZERO chance that an insanity defense will work in premeditated first degree murder.

Yeah, but I can see someone thinking he's in the clear because he's a couple thousand miles away. People like this guy always think they're smarter than everyone else (and I am sure he is pretty high IQ).
not to pile on here- but some more evidence this guy is hardly a MENSA candidate:

Kohberger graduated from DeSales University in Allentown PA with a Master of Arts in Criminal Justice in 2022

Not gonna learn anything on probable cause for the arrest until he's back in Idaho

Yep sounds like we won't know much until he gets back here which could be a while if they have to extradite.

Idaho law essentially requires any details they share to be done via the court record. The probable cause for the arrest is filed but sealed until it's presented to the defendant once he's back in Idaho. Will be in PA at least thru Tuesday (his 2nd court date there) and possibly a fair amount longer if he doesn't waive extradition.

Sorry you are going to have to wait till next year for that

Any reason for him to fight extradition?

At this point, it's all about making sure they don't share info that his lawyers don't have a clear means to access. Which making sure that is done via court records where they can be accurate, consistent, and thorough keeps them from tripping themselves up with inconsistencies

Idaho has the death penalty while PA has it but a moratorium in effect. But that's a reason to fight extradition inside the US.

Presser over; as suspected, didn't learn a lot but should learn a myriad of facts once the probable cause affidavit is unsealed upon suspects attendance in Idaho court.

Pile on? I was speaking in generalities, not specifically about this guy. I know nothing about him other than what has been posted on this thread.

Boring presser, but expected to be. Until he gets to Idaho, we won't know much more than what the online sleuths are able to gather about who this guy is. I'm sure a lot more will come out in the meantime from people who knew him past or present.

I'll say this, the cops here seemed way more competent than with Gabby Depetito

correct

my point is that just because someone is in a PHD program doesn't make them high IQ.

and I would also bet there is no actual scientific correlation between homicidal murderers and high IQ either.

sure there are some serial killers who would have a high IQ, just like any group in society. but there are literally tens of thousands of murders in the country every year and the vast majority are not going to be from Ivy League grads.

There was a strange call to a crime podcast/live streamer and some people think it was the suspect. Pure speculation at this point, but it's a weird call.

Although the vast majority are from Chicago.

Okay, I admit I haven't been on this thread. And I haven't closely followed all this. And I tuned in to the presser late. But I gotta say, that presser was worthless. I don't know how the press kept from 'come on, man'. Why bother holding a press conference to then deflect every question? They could have emailed out the information they were willing to share. It would have taken two sentences or so.

You have to make official statements even if devoid of content. That way you can point to leaks to the media and say "we never said that...please refer to official press statements"
