Trump is a business man and does what it takes to turn the economy around. In a time when we are suffering under inflation and spiraling out of control on spending, he may be exactly who we need to get us out of this. He is probably the best man for the job.

That being said, I have lost a LOT of respect for Trump and If Desantis tosses his hat in the ring, it will be a tough choice knowing that Don excels at repairing the economy while also knowing that he is not a candidate that can win easily. I'd have to choose Desantis.

But that is a decision I don't have to make at this point. Desantis stated he wouldn't run if Donald did. So we will see.

I can tell you one thing: not one of Trump's rallies will be aired on networks. He will be given no chance to hype up the general population. Without that he will be dead in the water.

The only way he can win is by outlining a plan to remove all "swamp" unelected bureaucrats that infest the system and begin anew. He HAS to have a strong specific plan that goes beyond the nebulous "draining the swamp". Tell me exactly what you are going to do and how.

He cannot win. He may be the best president to save the country, but it won't matter because he is unelectable. We just saw the big picture lesson in the midterms- back a candidate that can win.

Some of you are just dying for a phyrric loss.

I think I stated that above. I notice my post has no stars. Are you agreeing or what?

You outlined how he could win. I stated he could not win.

Carry on…

Fair enough. You think that even if he gives a plan to tear apart the swamp that is understandable he cannot win. I get that and pretty much agree. With the caveat being that democrats have learned how to harvest votes and game the system.

That being said, it is the same environment Desantis would be thrown into. We can't battle mail in votes. So in reality, no matter how great our candidate is, it won't matter if mail in votes can trickle in and erode physical votes at a polling station.

Democrats will never let go of power, doesn't matter who runs as long as they lean left. They have a system and it works for them.

All the bickering over trump and desantis is a waste of time. A lot can and will happen between now and campaign time.

And if you're worried about Trump damaging the republicans look around. The country is a mess, democrats in charge and people still voting dem. At some point you have to stop and ask is it rewlly trump or is there some other fundamental flaw?

As I keep an eye on what Trump Cultists are saying around the web, they just keep getting more and more unhinged.

- Can't trust him because he's a "zionist neocon" like all JAG officers/military members/Republicans.
- "Lockdown Ron"
- "Ron DeathSantis/Satan" (Common leftist name for him)
- "Deep State Dream"

Whining that someone said DeSantis called Trump a "moron" but its second hand at best. Then defending Trump himself attacking DeSantis as justified because of what someone claimed DeSantis said.

Some even claiming Trump didn't say it at all. "GOPe, RINOs, never Trumpers are behind it all."

One freak just keeps replying to everyone with

"Trump is running in '24. Desantis will get crushed if he tries to go against Trump.
You will be voting for Trump in Nov. '24.
Get used to the idea.
Where else are you going to go?"

But that system breaks down if Republican governors win. In most states, governor's control elections.

Ron D needs ZERO advice from me. However, the situation reminds me of the ESPN 30 for 30 on Nancy Kerrigan and Tonya Harding. The former did not appear on the show. It was a wise decision. Harding appeared and did not do herself and favors. She attempted to garner sympathy, but her efforts failed. Whenever she spoke, Kerrigan won.

I voted for Trump twice despite despising his style and life choices. He needs to go away. He has become an albatross for the conservative movement. For the record I would prefer Rand over anyone but I know he cannot win a national election.

His policies as POTUS were almost totally against what the totalitarian left wants so I don't see the angle there

He spent more than Obama did in 8, but did that in just 4. He got Big Pharma immunity for the ****ty "vaccine"*. He didn't repeal DebacleCare. Anything remotely good that he did was by EO....easily undone. Only the Heritage Foundations list of SC appointees was a solid win.

That may be the case (I'll hold my nose and vote for him), but the next couple years might be a surprise. When he shows up to the first primary debate looking, sounding, and acting like your grandpa in the nursing home who spends his days sending email chain letters, his cult of personality could finally collapse.

Remember, father time is undefeated and Trump will be 79 next inauguration day. He's not getting old he's getting OLD.

Don't get that either. Too many Republicans stood and watched while a coup attempt was made against President Trump for Russia fraud created wholly and totally by Piss Tape Prophets funded by Hillary Clinton and the Democrat Party. Then we saw the same thing take place with Trump getting the impeachment Biden deserves with Ukraine and taking the blame for Pelosi's failure to properly secure her building on January 6th, 2020.

The cult stuff started when many of us refused to buy into that Steele Dossier garbage. And it generally comes from the same people who defended Comey, Mueller, and their rogue team of Democrat lawyers hellbent on breaking the law and ignoring the Bill of Rights to get Trump out of office.

That whole thing is a NOTHING BURGER.

Both sides - Trump and Desantis supporters need to let it go.

PS> Dems are laughing and loving the stupidity of Conservatives to always "fight" for what is right. This is for our supposed Conservative Leadership in this country:

Screw that: Our FIGHT IS WITH LIBERAL SOCIALISTS who want to enslave us with a govt overlord that decides where you live, what you live in, what "public transportation" you are allowed to take, what food you can eat and how much, who you can marry, how many kids you can have and what sexes (if they still have those anymore), what job you can have and how much you get paid (if you earn a salary), and how and when you will ultimately DIE.

So, yeah, keep fighting each other morons while Liberal Socialists keep taking us to the woodshed.

How about we do this instead: FOCUS ON CRUSHING SOCIALISTS FIRST. Then we can go back to fighting each other.

Disagree. Primary season is exactly when you have these arguments. The time for unity is afterwards.

I'll vote for Trump if he wins the primary, but until that happens, I'll be working to convince other people to support somebody else.

The problem for conservatives like me, is Trump running as an independent if he loses the primary. If he truly cares about this country, he will not do that.

Who exactly would Trump appeal to as a 3rd party candidate? Certainly not independents or moderate Democrats. Not the vast majority of conservatives as they would have just gone though a brutal primary season and would have most likely nominated DeSantis. He'd have zero base. He's not Ross Perot who had appeal among independents and moderate Democrats and Republicans.

No, Trump's base is rapidly shrinking and the more he keeps up these attacks on other Republicans the more likely it is that he is irrelevant come 2024.

If he ran as a 3rd party candidate, he would get enough votes from the hard core election denier trumpets to sink DeSantis.

How much of the electorate will that be in 2024? 1%? 5%? 10%? I don't know for certain, but I bet it's less than 5%. That's a lot but it's possible DeSantis could replace it with independents and moderate Democrats. 2024 is probably going to look like 1980. I've seen a lot of people compare 2022 to 1978 where the Republicans way under performed. We all know what happened in 1980. I think DeSantis will have the headroom to absorb a Trump 3rd party run.

Remember in 1980 John Anderson ran as a third party candidate and Reagan still won.

Very good point. I'm afraid the number would be higher than 5%..... more like 10%, but you might very well be right. DeSantis might be strong enough to overcome that with independents.
