Trump the economic genius thought that sending out free money was the way to get the economy going? Not ending lockdowns and covid insanity?

Wow!

I also remember the economic genius advocating for negative interest rates.

I gladly voted for Trump in 16 and 20, and I am in the camp that thinks 20 was a stolen election.

However, I won't vote for Trump in the primary, I'm DeSantis all the way. Not because i think Trump isn't capable of resuming the Presidency, but because he will be a lame duck right out of the gate.

We need a Republican president that has the opportunity to serve 8 years and have the time to actually change DC.

Trump could do some good if he was back in office, but nothing would last

I blame bureaucrats, media and China putting us in a position that political pressure felt that was necessary. Weird you don't, but understandable given how much you hate Trump. Biden is better right?

I blame the guy in charge that was advocating lockdowns even after actual conservatives starting defying his policy.

I'm not surprised you blame any and everyone but him. Oh and you're taking about Biden again for some reason. Neat.

Trump lost to Biden. Maybe take it up with him.

Of course you do, you hated his guts. I have plenty of post, saying Trump could have done things better. Do you have post talking good on him? Seriously doubt you do. Your hate shows your bias to anything maybe not being Trumps fault.

edit: you editing to slam dunk Trump lost to Biden. Can you say anything good about him lol?

Realistically the economic problems we have now were at least partly inevitable given the insane spending and the long lockdowns of 2020. Yes, Biden made it worse, but the decisions Trump made started that ball rolling. I was expecting he would understand how detrimental the lockdowns would be, given his business background, but his decision making around that was pretty bad. He was great at the trade deal thing, but he ruined the good he did in 3 years all in the last 1

Sure you did, got nothing to say about any of the bull****, just Trump is the worst. Just admit you hate him and don't care what they did to him because in your view it was best for the country. Nothing on that, just how you hate him. Unreal delusion.

This may come as a surprise, but I don't need to worship another man or buy his online trading cards to vote for him. Once again, look at the title of this thread. There is a better option. Trump flew this country into a mountain during covid. He doesn't deserve a lame duck second term to flail around failing to exact revenge on his many perceived enemies.

Agreed. And the GOP is ****ed until the trumpers come around and recognize we need someone with integrity and leadership skills to win the presidency again.

You folks just don't understand MAGA people and what motivates them. Trump is an outsider, a businessman, who clearly stands up against the corrupt system and all its conspirators. They totally identify with him in this. They also know he has perfected his craft and are dead set on giving him another opportunity to demolish the system. Nothing will pull them away. The indictments just feed their appetite. People believe that Trump is being impeached and indicted numerous times in a keenly coordinated way because the System and its gravy train are deeply threatened by him.

They know Trump is old, narcissistic, says what he thinks with no filter and the ugliest tool in the box. But they also know there is no other tool on the box that can get the job done.

No one else has ever challenged the system like he has and no one else may ever again.

Every governor, mayor, CEO, etc. locked down and employed vaccine mandates on the advice of the CDC. Fauci used the excuse of "The CDC doesn't actually make any laws or rules" as cover to avoid any repurcussions from the country shutting down. But his "recommendations" in his daily press conferences and interviews were damn sure responsible in large part for the course our country took. So was Trump, even though Trump is using Fauci's approach of "we just offered advice, we didn't force you to take it". But what else do you expect from a man who's motto is "Never admit you did anything wrong".

A few Governors did do their own thinking and rejected the Trump administration's advice. And I've seen video of Desantis admitting he was sorry he didn't push back sooner than he did. Here's a link to one story with quotes by Desantis, but I've seen actual video which I can't find right now.

Oh we do understand, the problem is that has proved to be all marketing. We know WHY people say they support him, and those stated reasons are great. The problem is there is also, at this point, a delusion brought by brand loyalty, which is a Trump specialty, that Trump is good at delivering those goals and that he is the only one who can.

Desantis was the Governor of a state, who's responsible for the health of that state's citizens during the opening months of a potential worldwide pandemic. He was taking the advice of the Federal government's scientists (including the guy who was supposedly a worldwide expert in viruses) in the short term while he hurriedly did his own research to decide the long term course he would take for his state.

And you're comparing Desantis at that moment in time to an average Trump fan right now mindlessly repeating whatever Trump (who's no longer in any position of authority) tells them.

I have a feeling you know how extremely disingenuous you know you're being, but LoL, you do try, I'll give you that.

Do you mean when he did his own research, realized along with Kemp and other actual conservatives, that the entire thing was bs and opened his state back up while Trump's people were still pushing lockdowns and masks? Seems like the opposite of a listless vessel to me.

I'm not making that comparison. Obviously big differences. My only point is there's revisionist history going on claiming Trump shutdown the country. Others like Desantis listened to bad advice from CDC.

The criticism has never been that Trump shut dow or even that he wanted to. The criticism has always been that Trump is awful at picking people to do the implementation, and that has had disastrous consequences. No matter what you think Trump wants to do, his ability to actually do those things relies on the people he puts in charge, and he's got a VERY bad track record of doing that.

But that's not what Trump believes. Note: He wrongly believed he had absolute authority.

President Donald Trump, hours after governors on both coasts announced regional plans for reopening their states, asserted "total authority" over decisions about when and how to emerge after coronavirus shutdowns.

"When somebody's president of the United States, the authority is total," Trump said at a press briefing Monday when asked about the governors' plans. "And that's the way it's got to to be. It's total. It's total. And the governors know that."

Your mad at Trump and not the corruption or have a word to say about the tactics used, just a smug insult that its Trump fault because he didn't stop it. How do you stop a sitting president from lying to fisa and spying on you, your family, and associates? You're continuing to use the corruption to still try to get rid of Trump. This time its just that Trump has to go because he can't stop deep seeded corruption. Maybe if the country would be mad at the corruption and not the man its being used against, things would get better. The media and career bureaucrats told you Trump was bad and needs to go, seems like you lapped it all up.
