Why….absolutely nothing about the movie is about sexuality (Hetero or homo). There are no concepts of attraction or relationship covered. No other character has a relationship of that type, so this would be 100% about pandering.

For the record I LOVE The Wizard of Oz. One of my top 3 movies along with Grease and Pulp Fiction. I will not be seeing a remake, gay characters or not. What a waste of 1's and 0's.

30 years ago I did the Wizard of Oz volume off while listening to Pink Floyd Dark Side Of The Moon. It's pretty awesome if done right.

When I was a kid that movie would only come on television once a year. It was a big deal because this was before VCRs or being able to rent movies or even really see them in the theater that much if it was a classic.

When I was very little I remember when the witch would get bigger and bigger in that crystal ball when Dorothy is crying and talking to aunt Em.

Scared the crap out of me when I was little.

I also used to think that the outside of the witches castle reminded me of the Houston Intercontinental Airport parking garages that would have these round silos that you would drive up in circles in. When we would go to fly somewhere, we moved Houston when I was four, and always think of the witches castle.

The history and the music of the movie are fantastic people I don't think a lot of people knew that Buddy Ebsen (Jed Camplett) was the original tin man but he had an allergic reaction to the make up and had to drop out.

And they almost cut out somewhere over the rainbow because they thought it was boring. Became one of her biggest hits ever.

And don't even start on the debauchery of the munchkins in real life.

Serious question: Could this possibly be money laundering operation or a way it is done? Why would a studio set out to make what is almost certainly a bomb and completely unwanted out of the gate. To the point where few would even bother to go see regardless? It seems an avoidable flushing of money and capital unless that is the purpose.

Who on earth is stupid enough to invest in that movie? I predict it never gets made--not because people object to the content but rather because there aren't enough morons with real money to back the project.
