An even number means they always have someone to interact with.

When we had 3, two would be playing together and the other was alone and wondering why they wouldnt include him/her. The moment we got #4, the trio dynamic changed. No one was ever feeling isolated because the odd man could always help with the infant.

its a she and she is a survivor. outside should be no problem.

4 and we say all the time we should have tried for a 5th (although we didn't really 'try' for a 4th, it was more of a 'should we have another one" and suddenly the wife was pregnant b/c I looked at her funny - seriously, we had sex 3 times and had 4 kids!*).

And those who say 4 are easier, I'd tend to disagree. For some reason, when 3 played together it seemed to go great, but all 4 were together it descended into chaos and tears and it was never the same one causing the problems).

We have four now, but plenty of runway left on the child bearing years. At the current rate, we'll probably end up with 8 or 9.

4 kids here. Would have more if we were younger. Definitely gets way harder at 3, 4 is easier in some ways because they each have a playmate, but it also gets louder and more chaotic!

We had 5 in the span of 8 years.

My wife's sister and her husband have NINE daughters. It's insane.

Twice. Working on a third. Really enjoy the working on it part.
