The COs who supervise field crews on horseback have rifles. So do COs who man the pickets (small rooms at the top of the outer perimeter of the facility).

Those are the only ones who do.

This morning I felt like he was. But after hearing how big the search am was today and finding nothing, I'm a little discouraged. If they squeeze the perimeter again tomorrow and find nothing, he gone

This is the second time this guy has escaped custody. He was able to hide out for 6 days before being found. I go back and forth on whether I think he is still out there or not.

They set the perimeter so fast that I find it hard to believe he was able to get out unless it was a full blown inside job.

TDCJ has stopped actively searching. He's either dead, or gone.

The unlikely third option is that some locals found him and decided having someone to play the part of Ned Beatty in their own little version of Deliverance was worth more than the reward money.

They found a few things before the weekend that suggested he had been in the area earlier this week, but nothing warm since then. The search perimeter is still there. But the vigorous searching inside the perimeter has been reduced drastically. I've drove through there a few times this weekend.

He's either really good at this, or really bad at this.

If he's still in there, he's got the worlds worst ass rash, is hungry af, and got his first drink of water in last nights rain

I don't know what to think lol. If he is here, he is the hide and go seek champ of the world. I feel like TDCJ is doing a soft pullout. Just to make it look like they are giving up, and then they are going to go back in hard one day this week. Idk, just speculation on my part!

Back in the 90s a guy escaped from one of the units around Tennessee Colony and eventually made it to a previously searched house on the FM road leading to that village (FM645). TDC had a command center set up on 645 within eyesight of that house and dude watched the whole thing for several days while cooking, sleeping etc until they discontinued the search. Then he slipped out of there.
When the absentee owners of the house returned, they found the mess he had left and advised TDC who discounted their claim. When they eventually caught the guy out of state, he verified he had been there and watched the entire thing from the comfort of the house.

Word is he was broke down in a red car. People have been calling in reporting him approaching their houses, knocking on doors, ect ect
