Not sure if she is truly red-pilled, but she's been sounding like it more and more for the past several months.

Being against government propaganda doesn't necessarily make you a conservative, but I do think she may have had a small taste of the red pill. I think her campaign got hit pretty hard with the reality of what the left really is and I don't think she liked it very much.

It's just common sense, not a left/right issue.

While she's a liberal, she's always been against the woke crowd and those who want to destroy the United States.

Hopefully she'll eventually come to realize the liberalism in general is a problem as well.

Being against totalitarian policies does not make her a conservative though.

While I disagree with many of her policy initiatives I can still applaud her standing up to the democrats and calling them out for totalitarian leanings.

It us easy to call out people in the opposing party for these things because you are expected and encouraged to do so. It takes more courage to call out those who weild power over your political career and those inside your own party for those same things.

She has more guts than Crenshaw.

I think she's realized that her political options with the Dems have closed. That doesn't mean she won't be a leftward player, but she needs to find a new vector. I don't think her ideas about universal health services and other socialist things have changed - but the things that wedged her out of the party (classical liberalism + patriotism) have been relabeled as "conservative" - and she's been highlighting them - which creates the appearance of a red pill.

She is not a conservative. She is more of a Classical Liberal. Most of her policy positions are definitely liberal. She's closer to becoming a Dave Rubin maybe and that's still a very good thing.

She also had those positions before but they were overshadowed by her other liberal views. Her "red pill" has more to do with the realization that all of the talk from the Dems about free speech and more libertarian oriented views have no place in their Party.

Goal posts have moved so far left she is just closer to center than 2 years ago.

I'm glad her and other Democrats are fighting for Free Speech, but that's only because they were being canceled. Before I trust them they need to connect the dots to the true goals of the Democrat Party.

It's quite unfortunate she married such a beta male.

If I remember right. Her parents were somewhat conservative. Her dad was an elected Republican in Hawaii at one point. He's also a devout catholic. He's anti-abortion and has been pretty vocal against some of the LGBT activist agenda over the years.

My understanding is that Tulsi pretty much held most of the views of her parents until she served in the military. At least it was around that timeframe that people reporting on their family can pinpoint a change in her views. Her mom was also involved in local politics, so they are a known local politics family.


So I think her mash up of political views is not all that surprising. A somewhat center right family in Hawai will likely be squarely center-left in places like Oklahoma and parts of Texas.

Her fiscal policies are most definitely not conservative. More Andrew Yang-ish. I might be able to compromise with her though. I'd take UBI if we could just shrink the size of the federal government overall and use the tax system as more of income redistribution to citizens rather than funding for ever growing bureaucracies. That's still not my ideal but at least as someone with more libertarian values I'd be getting something out of it.

She's no longer a dem congressman so she doesn't have to tow the party line. Not sure if she really doesn't fit in either party due to her beliefs, or is just trying to carve a niche for herself as a media pundit.

Her positions are not clear, not definitive. She dances around a position and never takes a real stand that could lead to a true solution. Just talk. She needs to make something happen.
