Southeastern Conference announces Texas A&M's 2026 football schedule

On Thursday night, the Southeastern Conference released Texas A&M's 2026 schedule. The Aggies will begin the season at Kyle Field with a non-conference game vs. Missouri State on Sept. 5, and the Maroon & White conclude the 2026 campaign vs. Texas on Black Friday.

The book is not yet closed on 2025...not by a long shot.

Mike Elko and the Aggies will take on Miami next Saturday, Dec. 20, in the first round of the College Football Playoff at Kyle Field.

And yet the Southeastern Conference has already announced the league games for the 2026 season.

The schedules were revealed on Thursday night.

Next fall will be the SEC’s first with a brand-new nine-game schedule, and back in September, the league unveiled each school’s conference opponents for 2026, 2027, 2028 and 2029.

It was already known that Texas A&M would have Texas, Arkansas, Tennessee and Kentucky in Aggieland next fall, with road trips to LSU, Missouri, Alabama, South Carolina and Oklahoma also on the docket.

Given that LSU and Missouri have been designated as “annual” opponents for the Maroon & White, the Ags will travel to Baton Rouge and Columbia for a second consecutive season on Sept. 26 and Oct. 10, respectively.

The third and final “annual” opponent is the Texas Longhorns, who will round out A&M’s home slate with the 2026 edition of the Lone Star Showdown on Black Friday, Nov. 27, at Kyle Field. The Ags will be looking to snap a three-game slide in the state’s greatest rivalry.

Arkansas will visit Aggieland for just the third time since 2012 on Oct. 3. The Hogs are 0-2 at Kyle as SEC foes.

The Wildcats and Vols will make just their second trips as conference opponents to College Station on Sept. 19 and Nov. 14. A&M defeated Kentucky on Oct. 6, 2018, and beat Tennessee on Oct. 8, 2016. Both of those Aggie wins needed overtime.

A&M hits the road for Alabama on Oct. 24, South Carolina on Nov. 7 and Oklahoma on Nov. 21.

The 2026 campaign officially begins with Missouri State on Sept. 5 at Kyle Field.

Elsewhere in non-conference play, Arizona State comes to Aggieland on Sept. 12 before The Citadel does so on Oct. 17.

Lastly, for very important planning purposes as it relates to large family events, A&M has only one open date in 2026, which falls on Halloween (Week 9). Again, we urge you to plan accordingly...if you must...and at least go trick-or-treating.

If we finish 9-3 or better next year, we will prove that this year's 11-1 finish wasn't just because of a favorable SEC schedule.

8 and 4 will be a blessing.
Taxes are just a yearly subscription to the country you live in.

Georgia's still scared of Kyle. I think if they ever cross the Sabine (they think it's pronounced Saban) River, they will see their true reflection and die.

Can we stop calling our home Bryan - College Station?
College Station has a larger population and the field is clearly within the College Station city limits. I get old habits are hard to break, but nobody outside of old school locals thinks helping people find Bryan on a map will then help them then find College Station.

I was born in Bryan, TX. I'm not trying to be a hater.

I think Bryan has paid some money to have their name tied to CS

Paid who? Texags? Texas A&M? The Eagle? Is there an expiration or it has to go on forever? Is there a contract because it sounds like folklore.

If they paid the University, is Texags required to honor it, as well?

I figured it was just a holdover from the days when Bryan was the bigger city. I also understand there is collaboration between the cities. I'm just not sure why it's posted on the football schedule when playing football in College Station, TX sounds and looks better.

Thanks for engaging.

There was an agreement between the cities of College Station & Bryan along with Texas A&M. IDK - could be because the university has property across both. It seems like baseball used to say "College Station regional" and then a few years ago it was called the "Bryan-College Station regional".

SEC never should have expanded to 16 with cow and OU and gone to 9 games. Ridiculous schedules that is going to lead to the SEC having fewer CFP teams at 10-2 or 9-3 when it expands to 16.

This is a recipe to have only 1 or 2 teams at 10-2+ and most at 8-4ish. Going forward you can be a really good team, a very good team, and go 8-4 or 9-3.

Compare aTm, Bama, UGA, UT, tu, FL schedule to Tx Technical or ND and they are infinitely harder.

I agree.
I have previously started a thread on this subject. I received similar responses to what is here.

It does not explain the reason that TexAgs follows suit. It seems likely that TexAgs has an understanding with the University that if TexAgs wants certain cooperation from the University then TexAgs will agree to include Bryan when referencing location of Kyle.

We will play Georgia at Kyle Field in 2027. Our SEC opponents from 2026 to 2029 were announced on 9/23/25.
