I think this highlights how much we take for granted regarding US modern warfare capabilities and our commitment to maintaining them. Unless you're constantly prepared for large scale mobilization, doing so features resultant gaps like this. Being prepared for large scale war take many years and much $$.

St. Petersburg is just a few miles from Finland and Estonia. Russia tries or masses troops on either, He likely loses St. Pete pretty quickly. And control of the Balkan Sea, among others.
