It's not like there wasn't 800 or so subject species to use for this. Seem it would be much harder and more work to animate this than just flying a drone around one of hundreds that have completed their migration in the last 2 months.

Hell, at this point it's probably harder to find a non-blemished tank than a knocked out or damaged one.

Probably a combination adjusting the frame rate to fit the narration and the image stabilization of the drone. The drone operator is flying like you'd control a third person shooter, panning and rotating separately instead of orbiting and locking onto a fixed point. That's why it feels like digital animation.
