How long does it take for the ground to re-freeze
I've watched west Texas go from mud hole to rock solid in a matter of hours. That was with temps just dropping into the low 20s.

The surface will freeze fast, but if the ground was saturated, it will take quite a while well below freezing to get the ground frozen very deeply. For driving light vehicles, the surface freeze will be fine, but heavier tracked vehicles will break through the frozen surface and sink in the saturated soil below that hasn't frozen yet.Kenneth_2003 said:Jock 07 said:

DO IT
Is everyone just glancing over the whole submarine thing here? Sounds like a Christmas list you just keep adding to in hopes your parents hit the lottery.
Unless maybe they want to go out on the high seas hunting Russian merchant ships, which would be kinda retro and neat.

"My old commander was a Chechen. One of the best guys I've ever served with. He's actually the only reason I was able to serve and gave me the chance.
It's just strange though to see how quickly public opinion has changed for Russia in Chechnya. Their fathers fought and died against Russia and now their sons are Russians pets.
To be honest when I saw the video of Chechens getting ready to come I was nervous only because of the stories you hear during the first Chechen war where Russians were beheaded for fun or had ears, nose, lips cut off. Now they mean nothing to me. They are no different from a Russian, or Belarusian soldier who decides to come to Ukraine and fight against us because they will all suffer the same fate.
Most of them are already dead by our drones not even a day into entering Ukraine so their reputation has definitely suffered a HARD BLOW. "

Correction-
Most of chinese equipment is old russian stuff or homemade stuff that has been reverse engineered from Russian stuff.
Doesn't matter. Result is the same.

Distillery could mean anything. Gasoline is a distillation process. Vacuum distillation to be more precise. Isopropyl alcohol has a flash point similar to gasoline.ABATTBQ11 said:Captain Positivity said:
It was in the Kursk region. Russian media said it took place at a distillery in some village.
I'm not sure a distillery would go up like that. Last time I checked, alcohol doesn't explode.

The report I saw was Ukrainian citizens, engineers, techs, etc. are running the facility, "control", but Russian trops are patrolling the perimeter.Captain Positivity said:Have seen a couple reports like this tonight saying the nuclear plant is back under Ukrainian control, will be interesting to see if they turn out to be true https://t.co/TebyyiE5Qw

Disgusting animals. No first rate military should see that as acceptable. I know atrocities happen in every military in a war, but if Russia wants to pretend to be a big boy, they need to stop acting like filth.
My thought is getting them in under weather and if spotted and dropped by fire, they will fall into the occupied area allowing the occupied (cut off) area access to supplies. it may seem crazy but I'm trying to contemplate solutions to the starvation of cities cut off by the russians (a berlin airlift concept).Rossticus said:MaroonDontRun said:

If you want them shot down by Russians. Russians aren't allowing humanitarian shipments as it is. They turn them away so that they can try and force civilians to take food from them in order to set it up as propaganda, making them look as if they're providing humanitarian aid to victims of Ukrainian aggression.
