That is utterly insane, if true. You can get Baofengs on Amazon for pretty dang cheap (less than $100 last I looked). They probably got 'em straight from Winnie the Pooh.

Isn't that a repeat of their Georgian invasion where i recall seeing tank commanders out of the hatch and on their cell talking with their leadership?

Also, if they are iPhones is there a way we can locate Russian purchase iPhones in Ukraine and shut them down? Isn't this was the nsa is for?

NATO has zero reason to shutdown their communications, if this is all true, as we are probably gathering immense amounts of SIGINT from their unencrypted comms. It would seem NATO is passing on intelligence to the Ukranians so this is most likely acting as a force multiplier for them.

This is all so surreal if true. It really makes you question Russia's military leadership.

I feel like there's some disinformation there, but I kind of do think he's that dumb. I also think that Putin actually runs their military, not the Belarus government.

Yeah, it will get VERY bloody in Kherson. Kherson is strategically important to the Russians as they want a land bridge to Crimea. They will not abandon Kherson easily. And the Ukes wont stop resisting.

Ash Carter said last Friday that Putin is going to take Moldova if he can. He wants Ukraine, Moldavia, and Khzakistsn.

Yep. It's going to be hard to bomb the crap out of large cities without taking the cellular network off the air in some areas.

The Russian military industrial complex has been looting the coffers for decades it appears. Putin probably thinks he has all kinds of advanced comms and weapons. Like Saddam, he's finding out that that military leadership has been playing shell games with defense budgets.
