Say they do have the city surrounded. How thinly must they be spread out and shouldn't they be pretty easy to hit from behind assuming all remaining Ukrainian troops aren't within the city?

That's what my coworker told me. Kyiv is huge. It's better to imagine it as several towns/cities close together.

I imagine Russian PSYOP started out with one and only one objective: convince the Ukrainian military and civilian populations of the inevitable nature of their victory and get them to accept it as point of fact and surrender.

Much like the rest of the Russian effort, there was no alternative or backup to turn to when that plan failed to yield fruit.

Putin's Russia needs to be broken from the inside. Watching it all start to crumble without any military attack on his land just adds and extra dose of glee knowing that we've always been able to crush him if push came to shove.

If Russian troops enter Kyiv, we're about to find out how good they are at urban warfare. From what we've seen this far, I don't think it will go well for them.
