This video is interesting, not only because of the drone munition, but because of the claim that the AFU are advancing towards Izium, and have captured previous Russian positions. https://t.co/awd60ftAOq

Can you influence the powers that be to increase the speed at which these weapons are deployed. I am tired of being sickened by the innocent loss of life that continually occurs due to the evil produced by russia.Red1 said:
I think the US has the technology and weaponry to ensure Ukraine wins the war. The Russians can't match the precision and massive strike capability of these smart cluster bombs. These cluster bombs search for vehicles.

lol Considering our incremental and slow pace of aiding Ukraine with more sophisticated weaponry. I don't see it happening. I don't think we will be that aggressive and generous. I think we want Ukraine to win but it appears that our military aid is "just enough" and not overwhelming.JFABNRGR said:Can you influence the powers that be to increase the speed at which these weapons are deployed. Thank you for putting faces to the war. When I think about armies trying to conquer cities I think about Stalingrad in WWII. There were 400,000 Germans and 200,000 Romanian (Estimates Vary) and Italians but they could not conquer the city which was 330 square miles in size. The German forces were not large enough to secure the city by surrounding it. Most of the bombed buildings were left standing which gave a Russian forces cover and concealment. Kharkiv is around 135 square miles in size. That was problematic for the Russians. Of course the Ukrainian military had shaped the conditions for the recapture of Kharkiv.AGS-R-TUFF said:
This is a Frontline (Full 52+ minute) documentary as seen thru the lives of various people on the ground in Kharkiv. The coverage follows them for 3 months as the Russians rain hell on the city. Yes, it's long. But I've been watching it in segments. A little different from the content we've been posting lately, but interesting to see these perspectives.

Key Takeaways
- Russian forces are likely using Ukraine's Zaporizhzhia Nuclear Power Plant (NPP) in Enerhodar to play on Western fears of a nuclear disaster in Ukraine, attempting to thereby degrade the will of Western powers to provide military support to a Ukrainian counteroffensive.
- Russian forces likely set fire to the prison complex holding Ukrainian POWs in occupied Donetsk Oblast but blamed Ukraine for an alleged precision strike using Western-supplied military equipment, likely to increase US hesitancy to continue providing HIMARS to Ukraine.
- Moscow is likely continuing efforts to leverage its relationship with Tehran in order to secure drones for use in Ukraine.
- Russian forces conducted a limited ground attack northwest of Slovyansk and continued efforts to advance on Bakhmut from the northeast, east, and southeast.
- Russian forces are prioritizing frontal assaults on Avdiivka and failed to gain ground in Pisky.
- Russian forces are reportedly forming a strike group to prevent Ukrainian counteroffensives in northern Kherson Oblast or counterattack against them.
- Russian occupation authorities may allow both in-person and online voting in upcoming pseudo-referenda on the annexation of occupied Ukrainian territory into Russia, enabling more straightforward Russian vote rigging.

We've largely ignored the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict over the years as our interests aren't really obvious to many. There's some important energy infrastructure in the region but its an ethnic squabble over a somewhat small patch of land. Stability would be good, regardless of a "winner." Its largely recognized as part of Azerbaijan but also mostly populated by Armenians.Quote:
As for A. v A. who are we rooting for here and what end game would best benefit the USA and then the globe?
Interesting note I just saw a headline in which Ahmadinejad called putin a terrorist and apparently the Ayatollah is also in major conflict with Ahmadinejad.
How might this affect Ukraine war?
Aren't Turkey and Iran on opposite sides between A&A?P.U.T.U said:
Russia is a Armenian ally and in 2020 over 6000 people died in a two month battle for that area. Russia deployed around 2000 soldiers to help deescalate but this time if things boil back up they will not have the man power to do that. That leaves Turkey and Iran to try and ease the tensions.

As Russia becomes more and more bogged down in Ukraine, look for more of this on Russia's periphery. As Russia recedes from world power status, its ability to control the actions of neighboring states will be reduced, and more regional actors will step up to intervene in those conflicts without regard to Moscow's desires.
Overall this should be a positive.
I am already tapped out between Ukraine, the feds screwing me, and now multiple HC wildfires very near our place.

I hesitated even posting about this on this thread but after looking a little more decided this development could have impact on the Russian/Ukraine conflict.P.U.T.U said:
Yup. Doing a quick Google search it looks like there are a total of 6 nations trying to work this out. And on top of the Israel is in the mix for being able to use Azerbaijan's military base to launch aircraft. If things escalate it will be an interesting few months
What a cluster
One can only hope that the Georgians in "South Ossetia" and Chechens are starting to feel a bit froggy too about taking back control of their countries...P.U.T.U said:

Armenia is a Christian nation and Azerbaijan is 97% Muslim, for what it's worth.
