They did a survey about what student outcomes should be focused on. Teachers and students top two were reading and social/emotional behavior. Parents wanted reading and math. What's wrong with this picture?

There is video of both. It's not just because they spoke up. They were over the top. And I'm pretty sure one of them intended to get arrested.

No way the sheriffs should've showed up at their house though. They arrested them in front of their kids after hours so they'd have to sit a night in jail. This was 100% vindictive, coming straight from the board and superintendent. Heads need to roll but nothing will happen.

This also happened a couple months ago.
This is where if I were a defense attorney I'd love to see the probable cause statement for the warrants.

All of you damn Travis County folks stop moving to the rural counties on the outskirts and bringing your b.s. politics. Gillespie Co. is a mix of Austin and Californica wonder how that will turn out long term.

DOC is a class c, not class b.

And yes, they would have jurisdiction to arrest on their own charge. Resisting them would get you hemmed up on a resisting charge.

Arresting someone for DOC on a PC affidavit that far after the fact is going to be.... questionable. Of they convinced the local JP to issue the warrants.... well, the JP is ALSO an elected official. Someone needs to hit them with a FOIA request for the PV/warrant and the report ....

If you are a concerned parent or citizen of your community, you should be submitting open record requests to the district on areas of concerns. Most districts have a process for challenging books if you are concerned about the content of a book in the library. Also, attend board meetings, start organizing other parents that are concerned about what is going on in schools, get behind someone to run for a seat, and donate money to those candidates. The left has quietly been filling school board seats for years (even in conservative districts) and the right needs to be very intentional about taking those seats back.

I believe the warrant was for disruption of a meeting, a class b under PC 42.05. IMO if they had the pc for the arrest on site, they should've made it then.

Exactly. Somebody, one of those arrested, needs to file a lawsuit over this. At a minimum, it keeps the issue in the public eye and makes them very unlikely to pull this crap again. Need a very public reckoning of Exactly what happened, including exposing the JP who signed off on the warrant.

This is over reach in an exponential fashion. If those two parents were that far out of line, they should have been arrested at the meeting when it happened. This is gestapo tactics in real life. They should not have this kind of authority.

In the 1990s I worked with people who lived in RRISD. They were pretty middle of the road, leaning conservative, but they were concerned a faction of ultra-conservative bible beaters were taking over the school board. Looks like the pendulum has gone the other way.

That's what happened in Richardson.
What's wrong with being an ultra-conservative Bible beater when you consider the alternative?

That makes slightly more sense, I admit I didn't read the article just the people stating DOC.

It's still well out of the ordinary, and leaves a complaint for bad faith and malicious prosecution open.

I agree with another poster, I would pursue a federal civil rights complaint, and demand a copy of the PC and warrant, and immediately start impacting the JP or CCAL judge that signed off on its campaign. Keep cool, keep it LEGAL, but tell people EXACTLY what happened. The only thing 99.9%of judges fear is their inability to get reelected, which is why the way the Supreme Court and fed courts qork in the modern era has proved to be a disaster with lifetime appointments.

You made the most important point on this thread!

The left has many free market unemployable people, with lots of time on their hands. They have taken over lots of local political positions, that most people don't even think about. They are insurgents destroying America from within. We shouldn't have to worry about school boards and local govt, but we have to get involved and become proactive and organized.

Two of the seven board members are conservative. They are not up for re-election. The other 5 are up for re-election, so here's hoping some sanity will return. But there are way too many libs here, so who knows how this will go?
When is the election?

Strikes me as odd that five would be up in the same election cycle. Typically staggered terms such that 2-2-3 places are up over a three-year span. But maybe special circumstances?

Very insightful point. The Marxists are working to create a dependent class that can then be employed in positions like this to change the country. It's the reason mobs and riots like 2020 can happen. Those people don't work, supported by the taxpayers, and are used to do the bidding of the Democrat party.

Truancy, vandalism, theft, drugs on campus, misc property crime, etc. You know, all the things the real police tell us they don't have resources to deal with

So strange many jurisdictions have police show up to Walmart's daily to bust criminal activity, but schools....well....
Again, another administrative mouth to feed.
ISD and University Police do not serve the public, they serve the PR and reputation of the ISD or University.
This is why when violent crimes happen the investigations get mucked up.

It took the rrisd board two meetings to suspend their brand new super
