IMO the only signed treaty that the Russian's will consider a victory is if Ukraine formally gives away the Donbas and Crimea. Anything short of that it's curtains for Putin, and quickly.

And even then Putin will simply regroup, build forward military installations on their newly acquired territory, and try again in 5-10 years. This isn't a culmination but merely another step.

Allowing Russia a concession and an opportunity to reconstitute its military would be a monumental mistake IMO. Here is where they have to be crippled, and if at all possible, defeated. Ukraine wants victory and I think it's in everyone's best interest to do everything possible in order to facilitate that victory.

Anything without a 75 mile DMZ and third party enforced no fly zone should be unacceptable.

So apparently many people are now claiming this chicks on air protest was staged to garner sympathy for Russian citizens with the hopes of easing sanctions. Absolutely anything and everything out of Russia is an act.

I hope it's obvious to everyone that this is staged to show that Russia has some kind of opposition.

Yep. I understand the skepticism of American media sources as they're certainly partisan but this really is one of those rare instances where there's a hard line.

You don't have to believe "us" unquestionably, nor should you, but you should always assume that "they" are lying as a starting point and then work from there. This is their war and they have an obvious agenda. I'm not sure that a single Russian talking point has withstood scrutiny thus far.

I'm not saying he's correct but has several points that are absolute facts that he may spin but all the dots are connected. Our government has distorted some facts also. I just want to know why the US has spent billions and people have made millions over the last 10 years on a country we have no alliances.

I think it is impossible and probably unreasonable to expect 100% compliance when they had a general mobilization of all fighting age males. Place yourself in the position of the Ukranians, who probably have had close friends/family killed by the Russians and you can pretty easily imagine how instances like this are going to occur...

I can definitely sympathize. American forces have committed crimes, we aren't immune. We really haven't even fought defensively in close to a century.

I don't think we give the Ukrainians a pass on this one, they are supposedly investigating, and they should prosecute the offender(s) to the full extent of the law.

They certainly don't get a pass and I don't think the Ukranians are planning on giving any. But it will not surprise me if there are more reports like this - particularly when close encounters between Russian and Ukranian territorial defense forces (their non-professional soldiers) start to occur in cities like Mariupol. I'm not sure I would be able to take a prisoner if I were in that situation...

Russian MOD had a letter hacked stating they needed to make videos showing bad treatment of POWs for fear of larger numbers of troops surrendering. Watch the video...no bleeding and many other things wrong including the accents of those speaking.

Ukraine government will investigate because a good government should. Even if you are 99% sure it is false, you must make sure.

Both things are likely true, however (fake video but crimes are being committed). When everyone picks up arms and joins the conflict, it's is not likely, but a certainty.

As someone else posted above, even with a 100% voluntary, professional military, we have had our transgressions. There are bad apples in every bunch.
