So guys,

I hate saying this, but indications are that - perhaps - the best thing for the U.S. in the short term is for Ukraine to fall. I hate typing that, but the alternative is looking like NATO countries to start getting sucked into this, which will obligate us. As I said last night, that means World War III. I don't know that I'm willing to go to that over Ukraine.

I really hope I'm exaggerating or seeing ghosts in the shadows, but all it's gonna take is one radar lock on an F-35 flying along the border to instigate something that may be very hard to break away from.

Europe has already started to move into a war footing and NATO's repose force indicates that. They're way behind the 8 ball to actually do anything though imo. But we're definitely heading towards a time where military readiness is going to be high.

On the radar lock comment, as long as our pilots are flying CAP in NATO counties I don't see a radar lock being an instigator. One of our planes would need to be actively attacked and shot down.

NATO is afraid of nukes. The only reason I see why there is no intervention. Like watching a psycho with a basket of puppies drowning them one by one in a river and not doing anything because you know he has a gun. It's frustrating beyond belief.

Russia can do whatever it wants because of that gun. Nothing will stop them. No one is even willing to try.

And the most frustrating thing of all, is I understand that fear on a national level. It's rational and justified. It also ****ing sucks.

It does suck, and I'd like to think that if Putin didn't have nukes that someone would have gone into Ukraine and wiped the floor with his army by now.

He needs to stop breathing. Hopefully someone near him thinks the same and acts on it.

They shoot down one of ours and there better be hell to pay.

I don't want our military in Ukraine, but the second Putin's military attacks one of ours the gloves better come off.

This is why North Korea should never have been allowed to develop that tech, along with Iran. Once attained, the crazies can act crazier.

Russia appears to have changed tactics now to What they did in Syria. What happened previously wasn't really them committing to the war or it was them using standard Russian tactics of scouting.

It looks like they are fully committing now.

How soon until we implement Reforger? Seems like the Army activating its European supplies is a precursor to mass staging.

Where do you draw the line? Is naked aggression against an innocent country not enough? We've gone to war over far less in our history. A strong NATO response would neutralize Russia quickly. I think its time to stand.

Seems like you would probably want to draw the line at Lithuania.

They can trade with China (the largest goods producer) without Mersk.

Im sorry but I think your optimism is misplaced. If Russia has anything its natural resources. This will hurt them in the short run but its not enough to affect the outcome of this war.

Now the Ruble getting slammed is another matter. Lets hope.

I will admit I hate what I typed, but the question is do we want WW III with the moron we have in charge right now? Over Ukraine?

Democrats have a LONG history of being ******* and then overreacting in order to look tough. I'm afraid this idiot will do something very stupid in order to look good and bring full scale engagement on.

Money is merely a medium of exchange. Russia has stuff to trade. That's what matters.

I wouldn't be surprised if China buys a ton of Russian stocks to buy companies at rock bottom prices. China has an interest in Russia not going 3rd world.

Is this part of what was said to have been bought before the invasion? I thought many countries did that because they knew it might be a long time before they bought from Russia again.

And yes, if this is after the invasion, when things were "business as usual", then I'll be happy to be the first one to hang it around his neck.

Sorry I am missing something. Half of what I am seeing is Palestinian propaganda disgustingly splattered all over these Twitter feeds.

That video is why i don't buy the nonsense of it's just Ukraine, let it fall. Anyone who can watch that and say let them figure this out and oh well………… is as sick as the Russians.

It won't stop there, Putin will turn his attention to another region/country with the world giving him the green light to do so.

I think that prepositioned equipment was for a rotational concept, but I'm not familiar enough with unit rotations these days to know if this activation of supplies is truly unusual.

There is a TON of it out on Social media tagged as Ukraine.

SWJs are trying to go the politician route and not let any crisis go to waste.
Palestine
LGBTQ
Trump is bad
Nazis on all sides.

Oh and one I might try to find again was basically comparing Kiev vs Kyiv spelling like using proper pronouns for someone.

That's the problem. Every former satellite state is at risk of the same treatment by Russia, NATO member or not.

Where was this rhetoric in the countless acts of aggression in Africa? Did those people not suffer?

Nord Stream 2 owner is considering filing for insolvency.

Quote:

Nord Stream 2 AG, which is registered in Switzerland and owned by Russian state-owned gas giant Gazprom , last year completed the $11 billion project which was designed to double the capacity to pump gas from Russia to Germany.

The two sources, who spoke on condition of anonymity because the talks about a potential insolvency are confidential, said that Nord Stream 2 AG has been working with a financial adviser on clearing some of its liabilities and could formally begin insolvency proceedings in a Swiss court as soon as this week.
Quote:

Gazprom paid half the cost of building Nord Stream 2, with the remainder of the $11 billion pipeline project financed by British oil and gas major Shell (SHEL.L), Austria's OMV (OMVV.VI), France's Engie and Germany's Uniper (UN01.DE) and Wintershall DEA (WINT.UL).

Shell, Engie, and Wintershall DEA did not immediately respond to requests for comment. OMV declined to comment.
Quote:

Swiss-registered Nord Stream 2 AG is also terminating the contracts of workers, the sources said. It was unclear if all entities related to Nord Stream 2 AG would be shut down or how Gazprom plans to proceed with the pipeline maintenance.

Switzerland's Economy Minister Guy Parmelin said in an interview with Swiss radio service RTS on Monday that all Nord Stream staff, more than 140 employees, who worked for the company in the Swiss city of Zug had been fired.

Quote:

Since Russia's invasion of Ukraine last week, several large companies, including oil majors, said they would exit their Russian operations, including Shell, which said it will no longer be involved in Nord Stream 2 among other investments.
