The U.S. can unilaterally bar Russia from SWIFT transactions involving U.S. dollars, which is most SWIFT transactions. Nobody wants to be paid in roubles for anything (ok maybe Belarus), and oil is traded globally in U.S. dollars. We could likely push Russia out of SWIFT altogether unilaterally as we did with Iran, although this would be very unpopular with countries (Germany) that depend on Russian oil, and we would not likely do it for that reason.

This is my understanding of it; I am happy to be corrected by someone who understands it better.

maybe, just maybe, the Ukrainians are honoring the presidential request to not post Ukrainian troop activity? i obviously can't back that up, but just because you aren't seeing video of it doesn't mean its not happening.

There are videos throughout this thread of men fighting back or at least the outcomes of their fighting. The question is if there are enough of them participating and will they be successful.
