The one, AND ONLY ONE, thing I can question about this whole thing that Putin may have not been lying about, is his overall goals about this attack.

To my knowledge there has been no large forces detected for a follow on wave. If that is true, this invasion is kind of puzzling on the outset. 150K+ troops is not enough to hold a country really. We tried exactly that in Iraq and even though we had a spicy reception there, it would be nothing like a unified Ukrainian resistance. It's enough for a smash and awe but occupancy is another story. Could he really be in enough of a bubble to truly believe that this is just another military operation like so many other of Russia's adventures in the near past?

Anyone have data on near future Russian deployments?

What's scary to me are 2 options. Either Putin is more of a madman than Kim Jung Un and the Ayatollahs(since he's acting directly without provocation and without proxies, or Putin knows 100% that we will fully turn our back and leave Ukraine for the birds. No one has any idea, but it wouldn't take much to move more troops in once they control the area. It would be like us moving troops into Canada. They could drive themselves or take the train if they wanted.
