Let's start with the "no provocation" part... You really think regularly shooting at aircraft patrolling a No Fly Zone and attempting to assassinate a former President doesn't constitute provocation? Iraq and Saddam were given a pass for years under Clinton. They got their bill with interest.

On top of that, Iraq engaged in actual genocide. Putin had to make up genocide as an excuse to invade Ukraine.

But other than that, yeah, totally the same thing.
