Who targeted the airstrike from the ground? Was it the Taliban? This is going to be a key factor.

If that is the case that Biden's advisors were so desperate to clean up the Kabul trainwreck, and the bad optics of him not living up to his empty threats of getting tough with whoever went after US Troops, in fact killed innocents and eben allies, this will either be covered up or get really ugly, and likely be blamed not on the higher ups but claim the boots on the ground soldiers were acting out of revenge. Could end up with another Eddie Gallagher fiasco if the heat gets to much for Biden's group.
This is why you keep Bagram no matter what until you are out as you have a base to continue to gather humint from instead of being blind like we are now.

The contrast between how entry control checkpoint (ECP) operations are supposed to be conducted and how they are being conducted at HKIA (i.e. ZERO standoff distance and within the crosshairs of the Taliban) is explained by some guys who know.

There's now way that's a rocket. The 107mm rockets the enemy is fond of sounds like a lawnmower flying over head and noooooo where near that big of a boom.

The question is not why did Afghanistan return to the same or why did we go there.

The question that is most important, why did we leave Americans and allies as quickly as we had notified the Taliban that we'd be bombing the **** out of them for facilitating 9/11?

I'm not sure myself and I've been digging as much as I can. Stuff like this sounds so incredulous, even for Biden and the gang but there is also a lot of smoke right now of similar things. The reporting and reliable intel available has plummeted in the past 48 hours. Everything is literally hearsay right now. It honestly seems like the the entire government actively working Afghanistan has gone mum and the implications don't fill me with optimism.
