It should be beyond solemn since Joe chose to have those men killed. And Kaitlan voted for it. But y'all are enjoying no mean tweets.

Honest question, had anyone ever heard of isis-k before this? Ibfeel like they just make these names up to place blame elsewhere. Its like they are yelling squirrel and the nation is the dog.

Yes, ISIS-K is not new. They've been there for a couple/few years now. Don't remember their "formation" date, but our forces targeted them several times over the past few years. And the Taliban legitimately do not get along.

The Taliban want to be a "legitimate" government, whereas the ISIS clowns want what al-Baghdadi was seekinga Muslim caliphate stretching across the Middle East. No matter the cost.

Edit: the reason nobody's heard of ISIS-K before is because Afghanistan was the forgotten war. Iraq/Syria dominated the news cycles for conflict in the ME. Willful and innocent ignorance has ruled our insight into what Afghanistan really was for the past 5+ years. Folks don't realize we still had troops on the ground taking it to bad dudes over there. If memory is correct, the Afghans did the heavy lifting in terms of boots on target and our forces supplemented/guided/coached them while providing air superiority. In layman's terms: Afghans kicked in the doors & our guys stayed back and called in bombs. It's one reason why we haven't taken significant casualties their for a couple years. Not without risk to our servicemen, but far less risky than prior operational tempos and engagements.

I doubt the accuracy of these numbers. We will have to wait and see.

If Crenshaw is saying that, its probably true.

I have on very good authority that Crenshaw's office has been very actively working on getting people out this whole time. So if he is saying it's not been possible the last day I would be very inclined to believe it.

Agreed - initial estimates of Americans in Afghanistan exceeded 12,000. Based on how many have left, this number seems awfully precise.

So, Isis-K kills 13 Americans and 160 Afghans and we kill 2. Way to go, Democrats. That'll get you votes.
I doubt the 2 we killed (even if we actually did so) had any involvement with the bombing at the airport

We know Biden's cabinet is working with the Taliban. It wouldnt surprise me if the Taliban killed some friendly nationals or Afghan Christians so the Biden camp could use their deaths as retaliatory deaths of the bombers

Be real curious where these drones are going to be flying from.

Now I don't know the range on the planes, but since we won't have an airbase (uh, wonder what happened there) so drones will about to be gone.

Dignified transfer complete. I find it mildly amusing that to get women involved they gave them van door closing duties.

Some of those drones have surprisingly long ranges and endurance times, especially surveillance drones.

Right. At a minimum, if we hit something, the taliban looks for some coverage to explain not escalating further so that we just finish getting out of there. It sells their PR story to blame the airport bombing on non-taliban and to point this at non-taliban too. They won, they know they've won

These Drones are all flying out of Bahrain. With the closing of Bagram that's the closest strategic position we have left to that region.

Imagine what we could do if we had an airbase less than 100 miles away!

This is why Pakistan has us by the balls. We need their air space to do anything in Afghanistan. If we fly through Iran they will shoot it down

I'm part of the B-52 world (retired from it). Friends are posting photos of recent JDAM installs inside Buff bomb bays. Like this. Not sure if it's all drones doing the striking.

If I fact these reports of the missile strike killing 9 non ISIS-K people are true, how awful and pile this in to the damage Biden and his advisors have done to our the American reputation.

ETA: We need alternative sources though.

It is ripe for a false case to make us look bad (as if we need any help with that lately), but at the same time, it would not surprise me in the least that a drone strike in a major city killed innocents. From the beginning, this thing reeked of our leadership just trying to get on the scoreboard

Maybe they're pissed because they're mission was to infiltrate the USA. Now they have to start over. Just sayin.

Someone needs to answer some questions if in fact an Non-Isis Afghans were killed by the Drone, including an Interpreter and a Afghan Military CO.

Who targeted the airstrike from the ground? Was it the Taliban? This is going to be a key factor.

If they got to target coordinates from the Taliban or If the Taliban was painting the target via laser, this begins to sound like the Taliban fooled the decision makers fall for the okie doke and has the US Military doing their dirty work, in going after all the Afghans that assisted the US against the Taliban for 20 years.

If that is the case that Biden's advisors were so desperate to clean up the Kabul trainwreck, and the bad optics of him not living up to his empty threats of getting tough with whoever went after US Troops, in fact killed innocents and eben allies, this will either be covered up or get really ugly, and likely be blamed not on the higher ups but claim the boots on the ground soldiers were acting out of revenge. Could end up with another Eddie Gallagher fiasco if the heat gets to much for Biden's group.
