"People chose not to leave," Wilson said. "That's their business. That's their right."

"We regret now that many find themselves in a position that they'd rather not be in and we are determined to try to help," he continued.

I'm not sure who it was but Cavuto was interviewing a congressman earlier today and he shared that he was briefed yesterday that retaking Bagram was on a list of contingencies if the worst happened, so that would seem to directly dispute with Biden's claim in his press conference that the miliary recommended to abandon it.

He also shared that several Democrats tried in vain to get ahold of Biden last night to discuss this disaster. Doesn't sound like they got a hold of him.

Main component is the 24th MEU. Not sure which battalions comprise it right now. Several augments too I am sure. ANGLICO, the special embassy reaction teams, etc.

It allows to keep a strong secondary location that is prepared, full of trained personnel and supplies to augment the main evacuation. Would have had days to demil at least some of the base instead of just leaving everything.

The only reason I can see for this decision is the impossible deadline. Which is viable for explaining it somewhat. But he should have, as a combat commander, fought it tooth and nail and on the record before he had to acquiesce to anything. How he allowed America to be shoehorned into a single airport in the middle of a city and surrounded by terrorists is ****ing criminal. Stupid decision, intentional, ignorance, whatever. Doesn't matter. He ****ed up and he ****ed up bad and the situation is in shambles because of it.

Leaving Bagram was a strategic and tactical blunder when it happened and every day validates that more and more.

They are all bailing because they have 0 faith in us. A president that won't answer phone calls, won't talk to world leaders. Is lost, confused and his staff to be polite is completely incompetent. I would bail too..
