Keep the families of these Marines in your thoughts and prayers. Their worlds just changed forever.

He's manufactured an unbelievably awful predicament for our troops and citizens. I'm honestly not sure what option he has left other than pull out out troops and hope for the best or re-invade Afghanistan (without the support of NATO).

The level of incompetence needed to get to this point is difficult to fathom.

I don't see how many more civilians get out. The military itself there is a very precarious position. If the security of the airport is in jeopardy, no aircraft will land. Then what do you do with the 5000+ US + unknown number of other country military members?

Damn, this **** pisses me the **** off.

No US servicemen deaths in the past 18 months. From 2001 until this week, there were just under 2,500 American casualties in Afghanistan (contractors included).

There will likely be 4x that number of Americans abandoned in Afghanistan and we all know the likely outcome

Ground exfil to Pakistan is the only option in that situation.

Not a single one in 18 months and now 4 in a day because of Biden's incompetence. ****ing unacceptable

The tactical situation was always stunningly bad and our options were severely limited from the get go. This could truly turn out to be a real siege. It is definitely in the realm of possibility. The only upside really is that Marines are no strangers to that and will acquit themselves well as they always do.

Just a question of whether the Taliban want to or not. The choice is entirely up to them. We aren't influencing a damn thing with them either.

Sounding like a broken record here but never put the freakin' State Department wienies in charge of any military operations.

They are all connected to Soros at one time or another.

This has been so ****'ed up since the beginning. Misstep after misstep after misstep x 23498729348723948.

As a veteran this is sooooo damn infuriating. I spent 4 years of my life over there in that hell hole(5 deployments 2 IQ, 2 AF), and now civilian and military members are losing their lives, and there are probably many more on the way. Such needless bull*****

If we leave all those American citizens there, it will be the worst military blunder in US history. Not to mention if the military members get stranded there.

This is utter bull***** This is absolutely a black hawk down scenario. Doesn't anyone in this administration have a freaking conscience?? I can't believe we're sitting on our hands with our fellow countrymen in need.

What a hopeless feeling.

I get that. My innocence died in Iraq and any chance of it coming back was murdered in Afghanistan. That was over a decade ago. And Marines are still dying in that ****hole. This has been some of the most frustrating weeks I have ever lived and there is absolutely nothing that says it won't get worse.

2500 KIA. I believe the total casualty number is 21,000

I keep seeing this number about total US citizens in Afghanistan at 4,300 or 4,100. Where are we getting that number? Not sayign I don't believe it, just curious where it is coming from.
