Food is MRE / quick strike packs which are easily flown in on transports coming in offloaded and then people get on the transports out

You don't really change underwear but you do pack them with socks and such in your day pack / main pack depending what you brought. As for cleaning, hand soak in an mre box and a trash bag and some water and hang dry then repeat. That's if you're luck with all the sand.

You squat to **** / but my guess is there are facilities
You pee outside
Both are designated areas
This is the dumb **** that everyone hates on field ops but does pay off.

Thanks. Sounds miserable.

What about 10,000 or so civilians hanging around? I just don't see how that kind of thing can go on for very long. Especially since I doubt there are many "Taliban Relief Agencies" working on this...

The airport is definitely overcrowded and I suspect that is why the gates are closed. They are trying to get the number of people inside the airport to a manageable number.

Sounds like we didn't have an intermediate processing location other than Doha until yesterday.

Absolutely. Not that I'm a pilot or anything, but I'm always blown away by the knowledge and work that he puts into his videos. And the breadth; it seems like there's darn near nothing in aviation that he hasn't done!

I recall watching all of his updates on the Amazon plane that crashed near laPorte a few years ago. There was a good thread on here but then it just disappeared. Never heard what the final cause was there. I also listed to him a lot about the Boeing crashes

I believe the Atlas Air (Amazon) crash came down to a bad pilot who had been let go from a couple of other airlines because of poor proficiency became spacially disoriented and flew the plane into the ground.

Having seen the crowds of people at the gates, suicide bombers are my biggest fear and have been for a few days. The longer we stay and the more agitated the populous and bolder the taliban become its bound to happen
