Today is Afghanistan's independence day so in Kabul . Women, men, girls and boys came out to protest, shouting "LONG LIVE AFGHANISTAN, OUR NATIONAL FLAG IS OUR IDENTITY!"

I'm sure this has been posted some years ago as it was made at a time when the ANA numbered about 80,000 and the narrator says President Obama wanted to triple that number. But it does present a stark reality of our guys trying desperately to train these Afghans how to be soldiers and failing miserably. Afghans are just too backwards, with many being drug addicts.

Going back over Biden's speech we're not going to be gone by end of month
We're not going to get every US citizen out
We're going to be sitting ducks for one hot head foreign taliban fighter eventually or start killing afghani civilians as they get more and more desperate
The biggest thing I'm fearful of at the moment is someone puts a vest on and approaches our troops and detonates . The perimeter is getting probed more and more

So male employees are doing the honorable thing and letting the others go first. Stiff upper lip, the bulldog - damn, what a people. Not perfect, but right in the moment.

Another day goes by without reporting (thanks to the media) of how many Americans are trapped and how many have been safely moved out of country. At least Carter tried a bold plan to rescue Americans in Tehran.

Yep. This isn't Great Britain and they are not ghandi. The taliban doesn't respond to peaceful protest. They don't have western values. They will end it by killing or maiming those who participate. They already have, according to some reports.
