What do they do? Are they homosexual?
Thieves.

Tarred and paraded around.
So homosexuals are thrown off of buildings and thieves are just paraded around.

Interesting.

No. They'll cut a hand off as well.

At this point, if we can get them out of the country to a refugee camp where we can process for further vetting, yes. Fly to Guam or something and process. Send back those who shouldn't be there. The time for organizing and red tape has long passed. A hasty plan B is better than giving them to the Taliban. IMHO.

What is shocking to me is how long it took before the cia flew out on their c130. Amazing really.

Pretty clear that plan A hadn't even been constructed. What a pathetic joke, we can't even withdraw from a third world nation without leaving behind Americans, sympathetic locals, and billions in classified equipment/intellectual property.

Prime example- was there not a plan to secure the airport upon arrival?

Seems like reports only came out only today of that happening.

Securing an airfield has been army doctrine for as long as I can remember. However, the sheer magnitude of civilians in the area probably made everything a million times more difficult. I can't imagine being a company commander there right now having to deal with such a complex situation.

This administration believed the country wouldn't fall as quickly as it did. All the intel on the ground was speculating otherwise (even a story in the Washington Post this morning about it), but that would have hurt the overall narrative of a peaceful withdrawal. After Biden's speech that this wouldn't be another fall of Saigon, they could not accept any intel that the whole country was going to fall so quickly. So, the official party line never was challenged after that day. Of course, the Taliban has a say.

Keeping Bagram open just to evacuate Americans and SIVs would have been the prudent thing to do, but it would have also been terrible optics for the admin and the short timer Afghan President, so they didn't even think about doing that.

How much better and effective would this whole **** show have been had they scrapped the narrative, kept calling in airstrikes, focused security on getting everyone out in an organized manner through Bagram and then left a few folks to turn out the lights and run, exactly like they did at Bagram a few months ago? Just a bunch of arrogant "sophisticates" who have no idea what they are doing.

A good bit of the Afghan Air Force we paid for has ended up in Uzbekistan in the last 24 hours:

Some nice stuff too.. A-29 Super Tucanos, UH-60 Blackhawks, etc. Very Sad!

Now we run a real risk of there being bodies of dead American soldiers left behind. Thus completing the circle with Vietnam. Let us pray everyone of our servicemen come back alive.

I suspect this 10,000 figure refers largely to dual-citizen ethnic Afghans with U.S. citizenship. Over the years we have given out citizenship to A LOT of Afghans, there would have been a significant number of them in Kabul visiting family etc. at any given time.

IMHO...Afghani citizens that are/were loyal to the US are not the ONLY ones that should be trying to get out of the country. I won't name names, or which country he should be fleeing but let's just say that if he doesn't leave on his own...he ought to be deported. I would help him pack as he's probably not "up to" to figuring out what to pack without assistance and we all know he can't manage the steps to get onboard a plane.
Alexander, Caesar, Charlemagne, and myself founded empires; but upon what foundation did we rest the creations of our genius? Upon force! But Jesus Christ founded His upon love; and at this hour millions of men would die for Him. - Napoleon Bonaparte
