Obviously depends on each individual situation, but I have seen many cases where the entire family moved to Afghanistan so one or both parents could work there, taking the whole family with them.

This. My MIL was stationed in Turkey back in the day and my FIL and SIL moved there also for a brief period.

Happens often. My mothers Uncle lived in Iran for years during the shah's rule. Entire family was there.

As someone that has lived and worked overseas , including in Iraq, the difference between Saudi Arabia and Afghanistan is massive. Like night and day, there are no similarities different.

For clarification, the CRAF mobilization includes airlines like Sun Country, which means they will be shuttling them across the states, these aren't all 777/767/747's etc. Imagine being a flight attendant on one of these nightmare flights. Reminds me of the brand new Airbus a group of haaj pilgrims ruined on one flight (they crapped in the aisle/at the back, not in the toilets etc).

Both, they want the optics of having everything under control.
They want to SIV personal more than American citizens, but I'm sure both will be "held for questioning" or some bull**** and become true hostages.
They want the optics to say see we have more control here, everything is fine, look at the American side and the chaos ect.

They setting a trap, setting optics and placating internationally for legitimacy
