Trump did have an agreement that was working - we were keeping the peace with 2500 troops over there. Like everything else Trump did, the Biden administration tore up that plan and told the Taliban we were pulling out unconditionally.

What are you talking about? Trump didn't surrender.

He agreed to a withdrawal provided they kept certain conditions, like not taking territory, etc.

The Taliban crossed that line back in April, and when Biden told them "I know Trump said we'd bomb your asses, but I'm in charge now and we're just going to leave", the Taliban knew they had the green light to run all the way to Kabul.

The only surrendering was by the human vegetable up at 1600 Pennsylvania Ave. and his puppetmasters.


Spot on. It's almost like the Democrat administration wanted a well armed, well funded, theocratic terror sponsoring regime installed ASAP.

It's patterned after their behavior with Palestine, Libya, Egypt, and w ISIS.

It's gonna be danged hard for the Talibs to hold those Tajik areas in the north.

That is the huge leverage Russia has to work with over them. How much friendly brotherly assistance that may or may not make it over the border of Tajikistan to the Northern Alliance.

Reports I have seen are "Troops loyal to the Afghanistan Vice President" and refer to them as Resistance fighters.

It's the former VP Amrullah Saleh working with the son of Ahmad Shah Massoud up in the Panjshir Valley to the north of Kabul. These will be mainly ethnic Tajiks who have never taken kindly to the Taliban or any other Pashtuns ruling over them. They were the core of the "Northern Alliance" when we initially invaded in 2001.

German military helicopters to aid evacuation effort
A pair of German military helicopters arrived in Kabul on Saturday to assist in efforts to evacuate people from Afghanistan.
The Bundeswehr, Germany's military, said the helicopters' relatively smaller size will allow them to land in urban areas and gain access to people in Kabul trying to reach the city's airport.
Although international troops have secured the airport itself, Taliban insurgents currently surround and control access to the area around it.
"This is a real air operation. This is not a taxi service," Bundeswehr Inspector General Eberhard Zorn said Friday in Berlin.


Safe to assume our administration saw this as a simple take a taxi to the airport mission. Like it's as easy as going from SoHo to JFK or LaGuardia.

There are tens of thousands of people and only a handful of military. What do they expect us to do, go out on trash patrol? What if those MREs are the only things they have? Is pork better than nothing? I also find it hard to believe the Americans are just blatantly targeting random people. With how loose the situation seems im sure they have to look at a lot of these people as potential threats. The boots on the ground are hamstrung by those in command. This person complaining seems to want her cake and eat it too.

So it may be an unpopular take, but why are we responsible for taking care of Afghans at the Kabul Airport who want to flee the country?

Get Americans out and get out of there. And then figure out what the hell to do next.
