Federal courts tend to be better than state courts if you play defense. Significantly easier to get a MTD or MSJ granted. Elected judges are more nervous about pissing off the lawyers.GeorgiAg said:
I haven't read the opinion but it's not a shock. You knew the way the hearing was held that this judge was pissed off.
Federal courts do not mess around. I have a case that go removes to one now and I hate it.
I think we're starting to find out that Kraken is lackin'.BMX Bandit said:

I had a case against a large corporation in federal court. They offered my clients six figures and the dumbasses wouldn't take it, against my advice. Of course the judge later granted SJ and I had to go to the 11th circuit court of appeals. The mediator at the 11th circuit told us "we have a reputation of shooting the wounded." It settled for $30k. I'm still pissed at that client.GTdad said:Federal courts tend to be better than state courts if you play defense. Significantly easier to get a MTD or MSJ granted. Why in the last few years have you become reflexively defensive and default to ad hominin every time someone posts something you even slightly disagree with? You used to be able to have at least a little nuance in your discussion, particularly involving legal points. Now, even when someone posts something with which you purportedly align (ex., you say you disavowed this Kraken nonsense), you can't help but ignore the substance and default attack the messenger. I just don't get it.aggiehawg said:I know you hate the actual law. I went to law school with a lot of your type. "Second, Wood is not credible," is judgespeak for "Lin, you lied your ass off to this court."
This judge is royally pissed, and that's going to be reflected in any documents sent to the respective state bars for disciplinary action.
You are a liberal.
Sadly. you win.
Constitution is gone.
Congrats on that.
Ah, somehow scrolled past this post before making my own. Apologies, didn't mean to pile on when BMX already made the similar point.BMX Bandit said:
yes, really. you disavow Sidney, yet you attack anyone that shows what a fraud she is. Why?
Don't know Gipper, but saying HTownAg98 "hates the law" is just silly.

Staff warned other posters before about "you voted for this" getting old - I didn't object then either. I think it's kind of funny.

(CNN)A group of lawyers aligned with former President Donald Trump -- including Sidney Powell and Lin Wood -- were ordered Thursday by a federal judge to collectively pay more than $175,000 in sanctions-related fees stemming from a bogus election fraud lawsuit they filed last year.
US District Judge Linda Parker ordered that the lawyers pay the $21,964.75 in attorneys' fees for the Michigan state officials they sued in the lawsuit. She also ordered that the lawyers pay $153,285.62 in attorneys' fees for the city of Detroit, which was also a defendant in the election reversal lawsuit filed last year.

In other proceedings, she had previously been referred to her home bar for disbarment proceedings.
In related news, Powell is under federal criminal investigation for fraud. Her 501(c) "dEfeNDinG thE rePubLIc" foundation raised $15 million to "stop the steal". Dominion is basing a lot of their defamation complaint on the fact that so many cases were dismissed up in Michigan and PA. Problem is those cases weren't ever heard and were thrown out on BS tieline issues. The court refused to take up cases prior to Nov 3rd claiming they were jumping the gun and then rejected them afterwards claiming they were too late. No cases were heard on the merritts of the cases just dismissed on procedural garbage and that ever moving timeline.
I'm guessing once discovery gets into digger deeper, Dominion will bow out dropping their defamation claims.
We'll see
