I feel like this needs elaborating.
I feel like it's important to remember cause and correlation are still real things. While this is a terrible loss, miscarriages happen all the time and no reason automatically to blame vaccine. That being said, if I was pregnant wouldn't get shot and I'm pro vaccine.
Calculated covid deaths were based on correlation, not causation, for the last 16 months; now that we have a vaccine "the science" requires direct double blind studies proving causation.

News media is keeping it hush hush, but OBs are seeing a high number of miscarriages for those who take the mRNA vaccine.

Had a mild reaction to one but I can't remember what shot it was.
I haven't had the shingles vaccine.

I have had both bacterial pneumonia vaccines. One of them bothered me more than the covid vaccine and it wasn't even that bad.

I'm definitely frustrated with the information on miscarriages. I think we're solidly 6-9 months away from having any usable data on the vaccines effect.

I had a miscarriage last month. They ran bloodwork in the ER, but I didn't have any bloodwork from earlier in the pregnancy since it was before 8 weeks (earliest my OB will see a patient without a history of miscarriage). My OB basically said, "Well that sucks but 1 in 4 and next time you have a positive pregnancy test we'll start bloodwork right away to see what we can do." So now I have to get pregnant again, start the bloodwork, maybe see something in the bloodwork that we can fix (something like progesterone shots), and wait to see if I miscarry again. Then if I do miscarry, I likely need a third miscarriage to identify any trends. So for vaccines + miscarriages to be linked you're looking at probably 6 months to a year for that information to be gleaned from the real world application of the vaccine. Knowing what I know now, there's no way the trials were long enough to capture that information.

I've gotten pregnant and had a miscarriage since having my vaccine. No prior history, two other kids. OB said that it's possible it was the vaccine, but I'm also 34 and that kind of thing increases as you get older. She said if I have another miscarriage, they can start trying to determine what the issue is.

I am second-guessing my decision a little and it's made me even less likely to run out and get it for my existing kids right away.
I'm sorry for your loss...

Got both shots. Arm soreness after the first one. Arm soreness and a 102 fever that lasted about 6 hours after the second. Would've been less time because I was totally unaware I had a fever. Had I not taken my temperature out of curiosity I never would have known it spiked. Took acetaminophen and it was gone in like 2 hours. No regrets.

I got the vaccine because, although it wasn't mandated by my employer, it was mandated in order to participate in certain modes of work. In other words, my pay was a lot better and my day was a lot easier at work if I got the vaccine. At the time, my thought was that it was the best move for my family. If someone had to take the risk, it was going to be me. Now, after the emails and all that, I wish I hadn't received it. In the end, if I die a horrible death, I guess it was worth it to provide for my family the best I could during this time. At least that is what I tell myself.

Sorry to hear about miscarriages in any context. It's a painful outcome that has women second guessing and blaming themselves far too much. It's rarely, if ever, their fault and just an unfortunate and ugly part of life.

That said, they happen. There are plenty of pregnant people that have had the shot and are still having normal pregnancies. My own sister is currently 4 months pregnant and received the Moderna vaccine prior to getting pregnant.

Agree, they do happen.

Just how like old people and heavily overweight people die every day with our without COVID.

There are plenty of people too who have lived (both old and / or with comorbidities) with COVID infections too.

The difference there of course if that it is easily proven that Covid is the cause of death in cases where people died of Covid. That is not the case for vaccines and miscarriages.

It would be silly to say Covid is not real because death is real.

Not easily proven or disproven. Not much testing done on that. We sorta skipped the whole long-term effects thing.

Yet, we encourage pregnant individuals to get the shot....not sure that makes sense. Same as making healthy / low risk people get them too...

The spike protein appears to hang around indefinitely with the vaccine, so better to get the covid than the vaccine if playing the odds for young folks.

No. I don't know the long term effects....of either. Nobody does. Will take my chances with mother nature. Same with my kids.

To be clear, I did encourage and support my parents getting the vaccine. They are 70s and in ok-ish health. I have never once told someone to NOT get the vaccine. When my staff asked to go do it, I encouraged it and offered to let them just take the whole day off and worked with one who had 2 days of rough side effects.

My issue is pretending there is a 100% right answer and that everyone has to get the vaccine b/c its the only right choice. That is not accurate. The vaccine is not 100% proven no matter what anyone says. So why would someone perfectly healthy, young or pregnant get it or feel forced to get it??? I disagree with that...

Nothing in life is proven or guaranteed.

However, it's a pretty clear answer to me to choose a small batch of spike proteins generated by a shot over a large batch of spike proteins attached to a self replicating system. If you're going to get spike proteins either way even if the spike proteins are proven to be dangerous, why wouldn't the shot be the lower risk?

Just not how I roll. Why would I vaccinate for something that is currently proven to be EXTREMELY low risk for myself, my wife and my kids. Thrilled however that it works well for my parents, elderly and high risk people. Glad it is providing relief to families, hospitals, our world....

I don't want to continue this much longer. I don't have any major issues with anything you have said or think...my issue is the narrative to just inject everyone and every thing that moves. Seems a bit reckless. Maybe in a few years (months?) after more testing and it gets full FDA approval...sure I will reconsider...but for now I prefer to make risk assessments and at the moment I see minimal increase in benefit from the shot.

Subdural hematoma is usually caused by a head injury, no?. At least in my experience as a coach that's what we were trained on.
