Zero regrets. Lots of people with far more medical training than me (doctor friends) and an appropriate level of skepticism got it and that was endorsement enough for me to get it. I never feared "dying" from covid, but saw enough people get very ill or develop long term symptoms that I didn't want to chance that aspect.
I do whatever I want and have zero concern. For example, if I want to go to Mexico or Greece this summer I can and no worries I'll fail a test preventing me from returning.
I think some folks here have developed an unhealthy mistrust of everything, that's a little much to me. That being said, more power to you to make personal decisions. Just don't ***** if people don't placate to your lack of belief in science.
Most people opposed to getting the vaccine are those who actually believe in science. A minimum of 40 million people have had Covid in the US and it's likely more than 200 million when you consider how this virus spreads with such a large percentage of asymptomatic folks (most people don't get tested if they don't think they are sick and a huge percentage of people that were positive had no idea they were positive until they tested).
If you have had Covid there is no reason for you to get the vaccine if you believe in science. You have natural antibodies in virtually all cases that will last for decades if not the rest of your life. Is it possible you could catch it again? Sure, but it is likely a different strain or you never had it originally is the cause or just bad testing. Up until Covid people understood that if you get a virus you then have immunity in virtually all cases, for whatever reason that science has been thrown out for lunacy and paranoia.
Lots of folks don't get flu vaccines or other vaccines that are "marginal". Vaccines are not trivial, they are powerful drugs designed to change the way your body fights a virus. That's a great thing but you can't take any powerful drug and not realize it has risks. If it is worth that risk to you, great. If it isn't, great.
I'm happy for you that you can now travel and feel like your vaccine gives you privileges you never should have had taken from you. Realize though that the same logic now will say you need to get boosters every 3-6 months to maintain that status. It's also very easy to include other vaccines or medical requirements to that list. Pandora's box is really, really hard to close.
