I'm confused why this is more than a civil matter. Had a woman done this I doubt there would be an arrest.

This seems like something he should get fired for but they should drop the criminal part. He tricked the side piece into thinking he was no longer married... guys do it all the time and none of them belong in jail over it.
Again. You and I would never think about the criminal penalties for forging government documents.
But he's a cop, he should be aware of the penalties for doing so. And there's the possibility he was using his office to coerce others.
I suspect they'll plead down the felony charge, but the Rangers were correct to file it. And it's a great way for the city to fire his sorry butt, and not owe him anything.

I found out later that he had not one, but two murder-for-hire schemes against his life. The contracts were let by the husband of the woman he was "seeing".
So I guess that was murder for kitty, as well. Or at least, murder about kitty.

I was thinking the Sunray police scandal was way more serious though it certainly didn't go viral like this one. I work in Borger and my boss is from there...knows everyone. Wouldn't quite acknowledge that he knew this guy but did claim there were more girlfriends. I'm glad someone is responsible for such at the state level. In DC, no action can be taken for fear it might look politically motivated. So corruption there is unchecked and just a way of life.

I think to legally be fraud you have to receive money, goods or services in exchange.
