It's illegal to send them to your side piece? It's not like he tried to submit for something official.

I'm confused why this is more than a civil matter. Had a woman done this I doubt there would be an arrest.

Guy is a piece of trash but aren't there people out there hurting kids, shooting people, trafficking people and stealing?

So the message is don't like to a chick to get her? I haven't heard of any arrests for paternity fraud.

I will bet there is another unstated cause for this investigation.
Perhaps competition for a lucrative off duty security gig.

Because he forged a government document, with intent to defraud.

Because he is a cop, and should be held to a higher standard.

Because it went viral.

This seems like something he should get fired for but they should drop the criminal part. He tricked the side piece into thinking he was no longer married... guys do it all the time and none of them belong in jail over it.

Again. You and I would never think about the criminal penalties for forging government documents.

But he's a cop, he should be aware of the penalties for doing so. And there's the possibility he was using his office to coerce others.

I suspect they'll plead down the felony charge, but the Rangers were correct to file it. And it's a great way for the city to fire his sorry butt, and not owe him anything.

You call that a police chief scandal? Come on Stinnett, try harder!
Didn't yours involve murder for hire?

I guess I'm confusing it with the Soap Opera of the guy who bought the farm next to mine. First/only time I met him, he was real stand-offish and generally unfriendly.

I found out later that he had not one, but two murder-for-hire schemes against his life. The contracts were let by the husband of the woman he was "seeing".

So I guess that was murder for kitty, as well. Or at least, murder about kitty.

I get that the guy's a turd, but I'm genuinely shocked that the Texas Rangers don't have more important things to do than arrest a dude who faked an annulment decree after he lost some weight and went after some strange. Even if he's a peace officer.

It doesn't appear they needed to spend many man hours to investigate this.

Pretty funny that all these dumb women:

1. Fell for him
2. Continue to be fascinated by him, even though they hate him
3. Are thankful he's been arrested, even though the crime he's charged with has nothing to do with him banging all of them.

That's what always gets me about these cases. You figure that to get all these women, he must be as rich as Bill Gates, look like Tom Selleck in his prime, be "endowed" and know how to use it, be some great romancer or singer.

Instead, they often are poor, ugly, useless little farts. It's amazing.

I suspect it's more an ability to spot the weakness in potential victims, and exploit it mercilessly.

At one place I worked, the receptionist was banging the UPS guy. This was common knowledge and an open joke. He was married and had 2 or 3 daughters.

One day, she gets a phone call from his other girlfriend. She wants this fine, outstanding example of a human being for herself. By the time was all said it done, it turned out he was juggling FIVE different girlfriends on the side.

I'm guessing he called them Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday,.....

With Sunday being his day of rest.

I was thinking the Sunray police scandal was way more serious though it certainly didn't go viral like this one. I work in Borger and my boss is from there...knows everyone. Wouldn't quite acknowledge that he knew this guy but did claim there were more girlfriends. These two were merely the ones he had recently proposed to.

One of the jobs of the Texas Rangers is investigating illegal actives by others in Texas law enforcement.

I'm glad someone is responsible for such at the state level. In DC, no action can be taken for fear it might look politically motivated. So corruption there is unchecked and just a way of life.
Trump should have appointed the head of the Texas Rangers to head the FBI.

That should be his punishment. Disappointing one woman is enough for me.

Texas Rangers arrest Stinnett police chief after he resigns following viral cheating scandal
STINNETT, Texas The now-infamous, former Stinnett Police Chief Jason Collier was arrested Thursday by Texas Rangers, according to multiple online reports.

Collier became the subject of public scrutiny after allegations of infidelity went viral on social media with multiple accusations of extramarital affairs.

City Manager Durk Downs released a statement Thursday as news of the scandal spread and said that Collier resigned as chief of police for Stinnett effective immediately.

According to NBCDFW, Texas Department of Public Safety Sgt. Cindy Barkley said that Collier has been charged with tampering with a government document with the intent to defraud.

"Collier allegedly sent a text message to the victim with a fraudulent government record attached. The document was a fraudulent marriage annulment," Barkley said.

No (censored) is worth a felony charge.
There is no crime up there?
Instead of chasing tail, chase people with warrants? Maybe?

My understanding is that he created fictitious government documents to convince his girlfriends that his marriage had been annulled.

That is clearly fraud.

I think to legally be fraud you have to receive money, goods or services in exchange. So yeah, probably a case of fraud.
