Trump, for all his failings, is probably the best President outside of Reagan in my lifetime. He has taken nothing but **** for every single day of his Presidency. The man has some major balls, IMO.

The folks in deep south Texas are very socially conservative, as are many migrants, and they are tired of both the immigration and of the waffling Feds. The BP and Customs has a whole different make up lately and a lot of veterans that jonesing for confrontation.

Trump backed the MexGov down in a glorious way, only president or politician to do so. But most in the area are against the wall, because the juice isn't worth the squeeze and it isn't needed. The pure threat of tariffs made the Mex's piss their britches.

The MexTex's in south, and probably west, Texas don't want their lives over run by a bunch or handout seeking Central Americans. This is all gonna be.interesting. Historically the Dems have been crappier to LatAm than the Republicans.

Let's be honest. Many are not seeking freedom, they are seeking freebies. You opt in to pay for them. Nobody should be forced to do so. Many of them come across and get more benefits than our own citizens get. Now they will get many of the jobs our many unemployed should be first in line for, so you can also offer them a job as well. None of them should get a single thing for free or be first in line before an American citizen. Nobody should have a child held back in school while they cater to them. It is easy for many to be generous with other people's hard earned money.

In the early days of the Texas Republic, the settlers didn't want the Native Americans around nor the Mexicans. In fact, the Mexicans were considered inferior to the Native Americans in the settlers' eyes.

And now there is angst about Central Americans.

Who will y'all be worried about coming into this country 10 years from now? 50 years from now??

The one thing I find lacking in all these conversations is empathy. Why did the Europeans come over here? Why did the Mexicans come over here??

It boils down to opportunity. Economic opportunity. An adventurous opportunity. And so on.

I think we should all stop worrying about groups wanting to come to the States where by and large their intentions are benevolent and innocuous.
