I'm having trouble getting a read on Hawg lately. Can't tell if she is just messing around or if she has really slipped over in to Pro-TDS land (TDS can be just as virulent in the pro-Trump folks as it with liberals and neo-cons).
There has been a ton of socks and trolls showing up here lately to spike football and do end one dances on things they barely comprehend, so I can understand her frustration and lack of patience. Unfortunately that seems to be the world we are in now, all about trolling and drinking tears and then on to the next shiny object on the Twitter.
Is it too hard for you to believe that intelligent, smart, reasonable people can actually recognize the fraud that took place?
With 20 states suing, you still think that only trolls and conspiracy theorists believe that there was significant malfeasance?

These state AGs know this is a baseless lawsuit, and they are doing it because Trump's base has a gun to their head. They are doing it to appease them even though they know this lawsuit is going nowhere. The issues Texas complains about were litigated pre-election in these states' respective state/federal courts. These issues were ruled on. Also, Texas is hypocritical because we used emergency powers to change voting rules during the pandemic.
Trumpism has broken the entire party. Can you imagine if any blue states sued MI, WI, PA in 2016 because they didn't like the way those states did their elections? There would be massive uproar. Trump and his people hate democracy, and state AGs are too cowardly to do the right thing and say enough is enough. It's time to move on.

"Trumpism" is nationalism. It's America first. It's pragmatism. What is wrong with any of that? Why do we need to cripple our manufacturing to boost China and India? Why do we need to give money to Iran? Why do we need to the government to fund abortions here and in other countries? Why do we need to hire foreigners to take Americans' jobs?
But back to "sedition". Wow. Nothing is being done that isn't 100% legal and constitutional.

I've got twenty years in business, the last 7 negotiating international contracts and commercial terms with huge companies. BEFORE that, I was of the thought process that foreign diplomacy with countries like Germany, Australia, and the UK were about relationships that include things like trade, common goals, military, and that these relationships were equitable.
NOW I understand that I was partially wrong. For the last 30-40 years, the US has been treating these relationships like a political game. Some politicians have been enriching themselves in the process because we have so much wealth that the fraud is a rounding error and it makes us look like the good guy to the international community. And some people just want the US to be liked above all else.
The rest of the world does not view international relationships the same way. Every country is different and has different goals, but they are (mostly) all taking advantage of us, slowly bleeding us and gaining domestic influence one step at a time. Some are playing the long game, and boy has it been effective.
While many of these countries, over the past 40 years, have "liked" us, they don't respect us. We are a tool. Trump is the first president to expose all of this and push back. I do think that our relationships are as strong as ever, when viewed through the lens that every one else views them. Equity, competency, and respect ARE strength. We need to begin to understand this and stop wanting to be liked.

I mistook your skepticism for an insane ridicule of Cruz. Cruz has made it clear he doesn't believe this was on the up and up and him saying he had been asked to take the case if it goes ahead made perfect sense to work backward to `because he had ghostwritten' it. But I wanted Trump to be out of office and never heard from again, to get covid under control and get back to normal, an administration that cares about science and investing in the future, a president who listens to his advisors and doesnt make horribly rash decisions, a president who doesn't appoint unqualified dip****s to cabinet positions based on nepotism, continued efforts to improve our healthcare system, restarting efforts to combat climate change and invest in clean energy, fix our economy and tax system so it's not just benefitting the wealthy and corporations, rehabilitate our relationships with our allies and reaffirm our commitment to the international community, stop kissing the asses of evil dictators, and to have a president who is a decent and kind person who genuinely cares about America and others, and wants to heal us.
However, ignore all of that. Even if none of the stuff above mattered, every single thing Trump has done since the election, to fight democracy, ignore the will of the people, prioritize himself over the country, and break centuries of tradition of peaceful transition of power all for his own disgusting selfish pride... that alone is reason enough to vote against Trump.

While it is certainly fair to quote my criticisms of Joe Biden's record on national security, fairness requires me to note for the record that those comments written in 2014 also noted that Mr. Biden was a man of genuine integrity and character. It is also worth noting that I wrote in these very pages that Donald Trump "is stubbornly uninformed about the world and how to lead our country and government, and temperamentally unsuited to lead our men and women in uniform. He is unqualified and unfit to be commander-in-chief" ("Sizing Up the Next Commander-in-Chief," op-ed, Sept. 17, 2016).
