Hawg is by a mile the best source of information I have found anywhere. Hawg, is it time to get our hopes up a bit yet? Thanks so much for your contributions to this board.

All I can say right now is, "Ugh."

IDK what will happen. I know what should happen. But the legal and judiciary system that I knew when I was n law school and practicing is a foreign entity to me now. The rule of law is in flux.

I started a thread a few days ago asking when are illegal actions by state election officials is enough?

Right now? Apparently the crimes are not enough yet.

The glimmer of hope for the preservation of our republic is dimming. I was a big fan of ACB and Kav and Gorsuch for that matter. They have constitutional exit ramps. It won't be the Court "selecting" the President. It will be the closest they can get to the voters being heard. Twelfth? Or Article II Section One?

Were Scaliia still alive, I'd wager he'd be strutting down the halls singing Nessum Dorma or the Battle Hymn of the Republic.

ETA: You won't hear this again under Biden.

Maybe that's why AZ was not included in the suit by the State of Texas? Perhaps? So much is going on it is hard to keep up. Getting pretty tired of reading 100+ page court filings though.
As one of many on here that don't speak legal mumbo jumbo I certainly appreciate your summaries and opinions. I hope you will have another cup o joe and carry on.
I'll do my best, until my eyes start to cross.
I would try and help but only took one law class, Business Law as an undergrad at East Texas State. Got a C, kept getting tripped up because I confused justice with the law.

Thanks for that soul stirring rendition. I listened to all that and realized how long it had been since I had heard that. Sadly, I also couldn't help but think how many snowflakes that likely offends now.

I just pictured you being either Texas Jack Vermillion or Turkey Creek Jack Johnson when they come flying out of the saloon during a shootout in Tombstone. Sorry for the derail, just thought it was funny.

Is it surprising that Texas is having to clean up the mess of other States?
Shouldn't other states, such as those that decided to band together early on in the investigation, do the same? Why just Texas? Or did I miss where other states are suing swing states, just the same?
Texas is leading the charge, being the largest Red State and lover of the Constitution. Other states are falling in and joining the fight.

I am not an attorney, but it seems to me with the Texas case on the horizon it wasn't necessary to hear this case. I wouldn't think you would want to hear this case alone and incidentally set precedent for the other pending cases. But what do I know.

The Supreme Court has Original Jurisdiction in the Texas case and can hear and see the evidence directly instead of being limited to Appellate Jurisdiction where they would be dependent on whether the State Courts followed procedures. Remedies in Appellate would be to require the State Courts to behave differently than they have the last 5 weeks.

Given what Hawg said about under Biden not hearing it anymore, make Battle Hymn of the Republic the movement's national anthem.
